Wow! That is one incredible M50 journey and an amazing pic of it at the Arctic Circle! I would love seeing a dedicated trip post.

My suggestion would be to make a YT vid with your trip collection, and then just share the listed or unlisted link with this forum.

I plan to make a longer post, but wanted to share a bit of an amuse-bouche.

Earlier this summer, I drove our M50 from Chicago, IL to Deadhorse, AK (and back...) a total of 11,826 miles. Incredible doesn't begin to describe the trip, and I couldn't have asked for a better vehicle than our X3.

I'm curious, what type of info would you want me to include in my dedicated post about the trip (assuming that it's available)? Also, how would y'all recommend I include a collection of photos (mix of car and scenary pics) from the trip?

Cheers!

Installed my new Apline Ace-2 roof rack cross bars, along with genuine BMW M Sport scuff plates.

The Apline Ace-2 quality is great and the installation was straightforward (please note the installation YT video in my earlier post). Just completed a 35 mile highway test drive with no issues :)

Looks great. How was sill plate installation? What part did you use?

What is the weight capacity of the X3 for roof cargo?

What bike, ski, kayak racks are compatible with that Apline Ace-2? According to their website they don’t make any of that stuff. It’s a Turkish company FYI.

Vinbim's user avatarVinbim I’m curious on the sill plate too as that’s not the M Performance part and looks like the one soon to be released for MY26 Aug builds. Perhaps yours included the plate early?

Thanks. Sill plate installation was easy. Thoroughly clean door sill surface. Peel off backing. Stick on. Remove clear blue protective film. Genuine BMW Scuff Plate part# 51479464399.

Weight capacity of the Ace-2s is 165lb/75kg. Here's the product link:

Not sure on that specifically. Will bring the X3 to my mountain bike shop for their bike rack suggestions when needed. Will potentially be looking at soft roof top carriers also.

Genuine BMW Scuff Plate part# 51479464399. There's also a M Performance carbon fiber look scuff plate available as well from BMW. Not certain on that specific part number however. Obtained mine on eBay from Motor City BMW Parts in Michigan for $68.15 ea.

I recently took a trip to the netherlands and purchased a set of Apline roof racks.. even without a load on top it made a considerable amount of noise, ended up taking them off after the trip was over...

Loving the M50 so far... small edits here and there but the stereo now sounds great! :) Ordered some H&K lowering springs, hoping it makes a good difference. Greetings all from Germany!

I just finished off the tank of fuel I was running when I posted the fuel economy pic on page 6. I reset these values the last time I filled up and my car took 14.17 gallons to fill it up again.

504.4 miles / 14.17 gallons = 35.596 miles per gallon.

What type of driving would you say that is? Highway or city street driving?

The first 180 miles were primarily highway. My readings from that part of the trip can be found HERE. The remainder of the driving was a mix of city and highway. I am driving in Efficient mode.

Sure it's already a modelyear 2026 build?

When was the build date. I heard 2026 build started 1st of August.

Any picture of the interior door area?

Also your rear brake caliper is having the colored M Logo badge which should be missing on MY2026.
