Lens distortion on rear camera

Has anyone else noticed significant lens distortion on the rear, back-up camera? Lens distortion is a normal property of extremely wide angle cameras (on the periphery), but it's pretty intense on the X3 (it also can be corrected through software). I haven't experienced this level of distortion before on my other vehicles. It's honestly kind of annoying when backing up because the other cars, etc. in the back look super abnormal. Sorry, I don't have a photo on me right now.

All 4 cameras shoot from a very wide focal length. The view is close to a fisheye lens. Here is an image from the front.

It's a bit more pronounced than in the G01 but imho this is mainly due to the low mounting position.

G01 camera and height was perfect I thought. G45 is definitely a little weird comparatively and has taken getting used to.

I've never been a fan of the fisheye perspective, but I'm sure there some like it. I'd prefer an "unprocessed" option.

Thanks everyone. Looks like this is "works as designed" rather than a defect with my X3.

We can’t stand the rear view camera. We didn’t buy the premium package so are stuck with just the rear camera.

Here’s a picture -

I came from Ford puma to X3 30e, reverse camera is absolutely horrible no sense of true distance feeling. But top down view seems decent.
