Volkswagen to Deliver 7th Generation Golf Number 500,000

Volkswagen announced that it has built and will deliver the 500,000th seventh-generation Golf to a customer within the next few days. The specific model wasn’t announced but, statistically, it’s likely to be a four-cylinder diesel.

Volkswagen has yet to launch the new Golf in key markets such as the United States and China. It will debut in the U.S. in 2014….

Yes - I assume VW felt it couldn't produce enough for the U.S., so it held off.
