Red face Worried About 2 Things On Nissan GT-R

1. the diagnostic computer. in general, more hightech something is, the higher chance of breaking. there are so many sensors in this car its seriously no joke.

2. the launch control set at 4500rpm. will this be adjustable? the m3 csl has a launch at 3500rpm and can only be used 4 or 5 times and your warranty is voided. US law states you can't limit a feature on a car so bmw lowered our m3 launch to i believe 1500, 1550, or 1800 and you can use it unlimited times. i know i will be using this feature alot. not everday but alot and at 4500...

the launch control on GTR, i will save it for LP640 or F430. i believe the GTR can take off in 3.5sec without lanuch control.

It kills the clutch severely. That's how the Evo and STi guys have slipping clutches at just several thousand miles. AWD grabs like no other so you just feather the clutch and gas pedal, build up the boost, and go. Prolong usage can eventually lead to transmission issues.

And yes the Japanese folks got the gadgets hands down. I would love it if BMW can incorporate boost, EGT, oil pressure, oil temp, etc. on the iDrive. The R34 Skyline even had those digital display..and that car ended production in the early 2000.

The onboard computer is nothing new for the GT-R, the old (R34) GT-R had a similar display and they never had any problems with it so I wouldn't worry about that.

isnt the F430 kinda like the same? i think its like 6 times you could use launch control before the clutch is completely gone.

+1. There's nothing new about part 1.

I wouldn't worry about gadgets breaking on you...

as for the launch control... I really don't see why u'd need it often...
do u live on a drag strip? :/
u'll pretty much be taking out everything anyways...
very rare to have a car pull up to u that will:
a) be worth the launch control
b) if it is, will actually want to race
