Advice needed, imported BMW euro spec

Recently saw a BMW 3series wagon early 90s model with the ff specs:

Other hand drive (being euro spec)
AT (ouch)
M-Sport trim
Most recent owner who I assume drove it is in Europe so no exact details of maintenance-unless the dealer has some paperwork with it
Titled and has a legal VIN

Long story short, was just driving around and accidentally saw it inside a used auto dealer, took note of the dealer's info and searched it. Always been a big fan of wagons, though here in NOrth America it's pretty rare.

I know a PPI is warranted for purchases like this, which I think I already have an idea where to go. But I intend to use it as a daily driver or alternate to my 1. Only "not so" deal breaker is the AT, but I think the old car feel is what has drawn me to this car.

Somewhat an impulse decision this one, and just want any expert enthusiast advice, general or specific. Thanks in advance for any input.

I wouldn't do it. It's probably not registrable in many states. You say it's "other hand drive." Does that mean right hand drive? Why would you buy something that will only be a problem for you when with a little patience you can buy a legal car? Do you like trouble?

Find out if it's ever been registered in the US. I knew two people when I lived up north that had E30 tourings that were 100% legit and registered in the US. One member of our CCA chapter had a true-blue E30 M3 cab that he imported and registered in MD. They're rare, but a few did make it over here and can be titled/registered in the US.

Yea I think it was titled here in the US but has never been "driven" aside from the dealer who bought it from Europe

I think maybe it's at least worth a look?

Thanks KyleB. I'm just drawn to it's uniqueness and practicality.
