Anyone have any experience restoring an E30?

I have the opportunity to get my hands on a E30 M3 but it needs quite a bit of work. Car hasn't been started in years, it has some electrical problems, and didn't pass smog last time it was started. I'm not a car mechanic, I've done some work on my past cars, but nothing more extensive than a brake job, swapping a DV, installing a short shift kit, and wiring some racing ambers (remember those?). I'm not terribly handy, but I'd like to learn.

Has anyone has experience restoring E30s or similar old BMWs? I'm wondering if I'll be getting a little over my head. Any pointers or a forum where I could get some more insight?

How much work does it need? Does it still have the S14? I've owned several E30s, still have my 325iS (built motor, M Technic, Alpina parts, etc).

It will definitely cost good money to restore an M3 depending on how bad off it is, but they keep going up in value and I don't see that stopping any time soon. It may be a good investment. PM me if you like.

Unless you want the car to be a literally years long project (which could be fun, don't get me wrong) I'd pass.

Actually, on second thought, don't do it unless you're a masochist.
