Eventhough it may feel/appear that way (), the W204 is not officially manufactured in Mexico. Manufacturing locations for the W204 include Sindelfingen, Germany; Bremen, Germany and South Africa. There are also CKD assembly for local consumption, in various countries (possibly Mexico).

oh ok good i know that the jetta is made in Mexico but i was thinking theres no way a merc is made in mexico. So the ones made in south africa... does anyone have any idea which models are made there (I.e. the 328i is made in south africa and comes to the US no other 3 series models are made there.) hows the quality there? i know that the plant in rosslyn south africa making 3s for the US market has won some quality rewards.

I think the SA manufacture W204s will be heading eastbound, but I'd expect them to be just like Rosslyn i.e. they're an official manufacturing plant that will adhere to whatever standards MB has in their other plants.
