For X3 instead UK dealers only give like 4% - even for existing leaseholders. Whereas in Europe you can get 15% discount on X3 w/o a problem.

Dealers are dealers so will usually attempt to not offer discount. It’s possible to get 10% off a factory order G45 in the UK, and possibly more. I got almost 14% off my current G01 LCI.

I would hope IF I went the M440i Gran coup I would get that 17.5% that would be good.

I'm wondering if the seats have changed at all in shape, specifically the headrest. The previous generation headrest are too far forward for me (even adjusted all the way back) and after driving one for 3 years, it's a deal breaker for me.
Also wondering if the 3rd party specific model fit mats (a la Weathertech) would still fit.

I talked about that in the video that goes live in about 2 weeks. Keep in mind that seating and comfort, can be subjective.

In the rear of a vehicle with a staggered M40i setup, she is most directly over wide diameter wheels and lower aspect ratio tires. Before you order, take her for a ride in a G45 with 19" for a comparison and then choose your priorities (carefully! )

HB - Two weeks until your review comes out :-(. I have been checking BMWBLOG every day assuming your review was coming out soon since you had asked for comments by this past Monday. Any idea what day it will be coming out? Thanks for the excellent website.

Around Sept 22-23. Everyone has an embargo on it, 3 weeks of testing from media and influencers. So you will see A LOT of reviews

This. I put my order in on Monday, and got roughly 12% off an x3 M50. Deals are there to be done.

You drive the 30? If so, how is it compared to the old 30i?

Fantastic! Thank you Horatiu!

Glad to hear that the new seats are more comfortable than the G01 M40i. I'd hear about folks getting aches on long road trips in the M40i, so hopefully the new G45 M50 won't have that problem.

I have not. I focused on the X3 M50. If I recall correctly, the X3 20 xDrive they had there is not the same as the US X3 30, in terms of power.

Will drive the US 30 soon

But here is the thing also: we're all different, especially when it comes to our bodies. I was in that seat for about 5-6 hours, with a break in between. So while I briefly tried the X3 M40i seats, I did not drive in them this time around.

So I'm more curious when I get the car for a week and I can properly sample with another M40i.

Definitely interested in hearing from M40i customers after they get the new M50

I think most customers will be okay with the interior. Sure, there are a few parts here and there that are annoying, to put it that way, but when it comes to the X3 M50, I would personally value the driving experience more. In the end, it's still an X3, supposed to sit below the X5 and drive a bit sportier.

I said it before: with all its stiff ride, I loved the X3 M40i. It was fun

i almost didnt have to drive the car to predict this result... the interior was already known from the new 5 series where cost cutting was obvious... driving dynamics we knew would be decent... the cost cutting is very bothersome tho on a 70k car

I hope there’s enough feedback for BMW to take note and add back the interior features deleted compared to the G01 in the LCI or even sooner than that in a MY update. Some of the features have already been added back in the G48 LWB version for China (rear seat ambient lighting, metal door pulls, door sill labels, etc.) so clearly it can be relatively straightforward for them to do so, and it just depends on if market pressures and a cost vs benefit analysis makes BMW think it is worthwhile.
