My guess is the liquid is some type of cleaner or acid bath so the primer and paint adheres better to the metal.

Anyone had an X3 way back remember when they used to send you a video of your specific car being built in the shop? I always thought that was so cool. This reminds me of that except that it was all machinery.

When we took delivery of our F25 X3 35i BMW sent us the video of our X3 on the production line in Spartanburg up to completion. Its about a 5 minute video that’s edited to show key stages of the production process (bare frame dipped in paint, interior and engine installation, etc) up to rolling off the line with the actual vehicle VIN in the video. BMW used to have all kind of perks for new owners usb sticks, pens, artwork, and the aforementioned production video. Some of you may even remember the rechargeable flashlight in the glove box and full toolkit underneath the trunk lid. Those days are gone. At least we still have the new owners drive, and VIP access at IMSA races that’s about it.
