Congrats to those picking up their new rides (some impressive turn around times in there) and I'm looking forward to seeing the pics. My CA is reaching out to BMW today to see what's going on. This week's a bust due to Thanksgiving, but fingers crossed for next week.

Here is our build:
- X3 M50
- 20" 906M Jet black Bi-color wheels
- Brooklyn Grey Metallic
- Espresso Veganza
- Premium Pkg
- M Sport Pro
- Parking Assist
- Front/Rear heated seats
- Front ventilated seats
- Rear climate controls
- Rear window shades

It's probably held up for something trivial like they ran out of mesh material for the window shades

Hopefully will be able to share pics soon

Cheers

There is nothing your CA can do. The factory does not release the reason a specific vehicle is in QC to either dealers or Genius. Hopefully Genius was correct and it has cleared QC and waiting for transport.

Quick update. We walked away from our Brooklyn Grey X3 M50 build having been QC stuck for 4 weeks. On the plus side we took delivery yesterday of an in stock M50 in Tanzanite Blue which looks fantastic (pics to follow). So far happy with my decision.

I also wanted to inform those yet to pick up or have already taken delivery to pay attention to the panel gaps around the hood. Hopefully, I'm an outlier but I noticed a huge difference in the panel gaps at the rear of the hood from left to right.

This looks to be caused by a spacer that has fallen off post paint shop on the left bracket vs the right.

PITA that the dealer didn't catch it, or myself for that matter, but such is life.

Cheers

Hi guys,

I placed my factory order with a local BMW center.
My CA told me that they have submitted the request to BMW NA, and should have the production # available in a week or so.

He wasn't able to confirm the production week as of yet, but insisted that they have allocations available for January 2025.

Does this sound right? Just dont want to keep waiting and end up not getting the car

No, they are just stringing you along as they have no allocation. The production number is available as soon as they enter the order. Sounds like they just put you into the order bank which means they are waiting for an allocation. Allocations are usually issued at the end of the month.

Thanks!
Does that also apply to January’s allocations (or should they have that info available by now)?

Let's make sure we are on the same page. The allocations for January production were issued a few weeks ago. The allocations that will come out next will be for February production.

Thanks for sharing some insights into this!
My CA told me that he should have the production number for me next week and production should fall somewhere in January 2025. It is the first time I’ve worked with this CA, but did order 3 cars from this dealership in the past.

Do you foresee any dealerships having issues getting allocations for X3 M50?

Thanks!

Based on traffic on this forum, huge discounts already offered in EU (x3 is discounted more than outgoing x4) and general consensus, I wouldnt worry about getting allocation

I've ordered an individually configured M50 at the end of October in Germany. Car was build on November 14. Allocation shouldn't be a problem.

Got 16% off list price and car is scheduled for delivery mid of January. Usually transfer frum the US factory to local dealer in Germany is 6-8 weeks.
