Will Mount Hood climbers be found alive?

Two missing remaining.

I find myself glued to the news of the missing climbers in Oregon. 10 days in the frigid cold with only modest survival gear doesn't seem to offer much optimism.

if they dont continue to move. If they stay in place, I think they might have been found. It is hard to tell. Hope they get to them soon.

unfortunatly as much as I know we want them to be alive. I can almost guaranttee there not!! Im an avid backcountry snowboarder and have been in similiar situations. those guys have supplies so there is hope but they may be buried! the 2 men left the snow caves that they had built for survival! Just an FYI when u build a snow cave it takes alot of energy out of you and u have to stay awake or u will be buried in!! the constant snow will cover your hole it has almost happend to me and a buddy before!! thank the lord for BEACONS..from what ive heard and read these guys dont have beacons!!
They are in my prayers for i know this can happen to me or anyof my hiking friends!

I was quite taken by the story of the San Francisco CNET senior editor and his family weeks ago. Then this happened.

I was an avid backpacker and an occasional mountaineer/rockclimber. Three times in my life had I gone off course in better weather, but since the most recent one, I had never again left without my GPS and 10 essentials. I've been almost obsessed with survival stories since.

The latest is that Kelly James apparently had had an obvious arm injury, and that the other two probably got off course during their descent, and fell in the gullies. How long has it been? 11 days? They're probably buried in new snow.

If they lost their footing or the ground gave out and they slide into a crevasse, it's sad to say, but they're gone. I used to spend my summers out in Government Camp, riding Mt. Hood. It's a dangerous place, and a lot of people don't have the proper training for what they encounter.
