public service announcement: what to do with spam posts
Many of you already know this I'm sure, but it bears repeating for those that don't. Particularly with the influx of new users we've had lately. If you see someone post a spam thread selling software to rip MP3s/DVDs, etc., or selling phones and the like, use the report feature of the forum to report the thread to the moderators and they will (usually promptly) delete it.
The report button is found next to the users post on the bottom left underneath their avatar. Look for a white triangle outlined in red with an exclamation point in the middle. Replying to spammers is useless as your post will eventually be deleted anyway. Last edited by radix; 06-01-2010 at 02:25 PM.. |

I sometimes reply to spam posts as an attempt at humor. It does seem, however, that some users think the OP will actually be able to read the replies.

Yeah fellas, just report them as stated. With over 335,000 on the board, we can't read them all. So if you see one, just report it.
One of us will check it out and get it off the board. Thanks in advance....
