Seen the Merc SLS AMG today
Actually I've seen it a few times now at my local dealer and I have to say I'm quite impressed. In pictures the rear is very disappointing and the car doesnt seem to grab my attention much.
In real life, however, it looks really nice! I seen it in black which is a very good colour for it and today I seen it from a few angles and I have to say its a very nice car. It stands out enough I think and it remains classy as a Merc should. It doesnt look visually as big or imposing as a Gallardo or Ferrari but it looks very sleek instead. Anyone else seen it?

I seen a few as well. Much better in person than in pics! The back still reminds me of an Acura CL though.
We have actually had 2 different ones at a few track days. They sound incredible at the track and are quite capable on the track as well! |

saw one in newport about a week after it came out. interesting design, but not feeling it. id rather have the classic. Then i saw another at a 5 diamond hotel valet about a month later. it looks like a bad render IMHO.

i did and it looked better in person.
however, i think for the money, it need to be more aggresive looking, like this. I wouldn't mind driving this even with that huge wing on the street, LOL http://www.google.ca/images?client=f...=&oq=&gs_rfai= |

Oh yeah, price. I think its too expensive for what it is too and cant see me buying one. That said, I was just surprised how much better it looked in real-life.

Its proportions are striking in person. Saw one in matte grey. It's restrained but imposing at the same time.

I saw a white SLS AMG and it looks really good in person. And I'm not going to be snobby but this car is priced just right. It had to be around or more expensive then a Cl65/SL65 AMG and those cars are $190K+ cars.
So getting a SLS for around 200K is A-OK because: 1) SLS are going to be exclusive 2) way good looking then a CL/SL 3) good effort on the gullwing reincarnation 4) Pretty darn quick in straight and twistys. We all would like the SLS to be priced around 30-50k or maybe get it for free, but life isn't always fair

The SLS is very impressive....tho I must admit I wudn't personally choose that car if I was spending that kind of money!!!
I was lucky enough to attend an AMG track day while on vacation in Dubai earlier this year. Got to drive the SLS, SL63 AMG and E63 back to back on the Yas Marina F1 circuit. The SLS looks pretty good in the flesh esp in the aforementioned Matte Grey and has tremendous presence. Great track car too!! Also got to do slalom event with C63, SLK55AMG, and E63 AMG. SLK was the most fun. Part 3 of the event was a ride in the SLR AMG GT and C63 DTM vehicles with the DTM drivers....4 laps around part of the Yas Marina circuit...fully kitted out in the firesuit , helmet and boots. Overall just an exhilirating experience.....sensory overload standing beside the paddock.....sights, sounds, and smells....and the gorgeous models weren't too hard on the eye either Have a video that i will try to post soon..... |
