Opinions of the Bahamas or a quick trip

My girlfriend and I are going to be taking at trip somewhere during the second week of March for 3 nights, and I am thinking of going to the Bahamas. After talking to a few friends they have given me mixed reviews of the Bahamas. Saying Atlantis is awesome, but I would rather not spend over 250 a night for a room so Atlantis is out. Tell me your opinions of the Bahamas or give me input of some other place they should be a good time. I am thinking a cruse may be another good option, but my gf ideal vacation is some place with those little huts near the water thahts all tropical that she can lay out by the beach and acquire more skin cancer, ha.

Atlantis is full of families. If little kids running around everywhere doesn't bother you, then you might like it.

Cruises are cool, but (at least on this coast) you are trapped on the boat and have to buy THEIR alcohol unless you smuggle some on. Even when we stop in port in Mexico, alcohol purchases are stored and returned at the end of your journey.

I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise like 7 years ago and we had a blast. If you can find good rates and a line with the ports of call you like go for it, you won't regret it

Edit: just realized it was a 3 day trip :S For 3 days I'd vote for your own trip to the Bahamas.

Pshhhhhhhhh. Just purchase handles and have everybody fill their water bottles half way on the way back to the boat and jam them in your backpacks like a regular bottle of drinking water. I had to teach my parents this. They now smuggle it on in their luggage before leaving in the first place.

A cruise isn't worth it for 3 days. Go to the Bahamas and enjoy. You're there in a couple of hours and don't need to leave the beach until your flight home.

I just went on a new years cruise to the bahamas. It was fun, I recommend it. If you wanna bring liquor on the ship from home, just take a couple listerine bottles, empty & wash them, put vodka in them with a couple drops of green food coloring and you're set.
