Anybody here love supra's?
Before I bought my 335i, I had been looking everyday for an MKIV supra. Everytime I looked, I realized that affording one would be impossible as they are about the price I paid for my 335i except you have to pay in cash. Its hard to find a bank that will give you a loan on a 15 year old car with a price tag of $28,000. The best i could find was a 3 year@6.9%! Now, im wishing I would have just saved up for another year and bought one instead of my 335i. I like to mod my cars for rediculous amounts of horespower and drive on the street. It seems like the n54 platform was the wrong choice. Anybody else here love supra's or wish they would have one instead of there e9x?

I love the Supra. If I could find a flawless example, then hell yes I would pick one over a rear drive pre owned 335.

You were able to find a decent one for $28k? Damn, lol.
I love the Supra, the engine is damn near bomb proof, can make an enormous amount of power, and the car looks badass. Its definitely a dream car if I ever had more money than needed. |

I used to love them before "Fast & Furious" came out. Now I hate them with a fucking passion, because they now look crap with humongous spoilers and silly decals.

salvage title...has 89,000 miles.
I was just running some numbers, If you bought a roller for $8k, you can get a brand new 2jz-gte shortblock for $2k, and a rebuild v160 for about 2k, rebuild your own head, ECU, wiring harness, and other misc. parts. you could build one for under $20K. Quote:

Sorry let me refine my post. I meant you can get a brand new 2jz-gte short block for that price. My appologies. A head is expensive but if you have a higher milage car, the bottom end is usually the most worn. A head can be rebuilt for less than $1000 bucks if you do it yourself or know someone. I would rather rebuild the engine/head myself anyways. I think its more fun that way.
Ive been considering doing a turbo LS1 swapped rx7 for the past few months. I need a project car.

N54's can make 400-450whp no problem , but obviously doesn't have the potential of a LS1 swapped RX-7 or a 2JZ.

I agree^^ They are nice but I would rather have a 2008 335i over a old supra... its not worth it.. Also u will have to fix it up no matter how new someone says it is.... I found a Twin turbo one a long time ago and they wanted 46K... It was a honda dealer selling it... Also when they opened the hood the cover over the fan was broken, also the car had some dents in it....

I had a supra years ago. Dyno'd 57x on pump, using a t-51r... That car was a beast and I was much more confident in it than my current 335, but there is a LOT to be said for refinement! The 335 crushes the supra in every way when it comes to cockpit fit, feel, appearance, and options. If you still really want speed; buy a sport bike. LS prepped fd's are the end all, but just as pricey... Can't wait to see some of these rx8s with 6.0s in them either!
