Are there any polishers worth buying for under $100? The PC 7424XP is only "cheap" one worth buying, and then you are still looking at another $50+ in decent pads, polish, etc.
I wish I could help, but $100 is asking a lot. Maybe you can find a used PC on eBay?

I wouldn't use a $30 polisher on my paint.

The cheaper polishers use less powerful, and less reliable (IMO) motors. For a good polish, you want a consistent, uninterrupted polish at a specific RPM. The higher performance motors are proven to provide that. With a $30 Walmart special, I'd be hesitant to say the same thing.

I'd trust a walmart special on my paint, but only b/c it desn't have the power to correct anything. those are pretty much good for waxing only porter cable w/ surbuf pads seem to do the trick for novice to advanced...regular foam pads on the porter take too much time and pressure.

You should invest little more money for your baby, buy good polisher and you will love it ; when you do detail your baby, its one time buy. so go for D A polisher if you are new at detailing.

Yes, make sure you get a random orbital or dual action polisher. You can cheaper rotary polishers, but if you are new at it, you are just asking for screwed up paint.
