Thanks for sharing! This is very interesting. Hope you'll convince your wife to get it. Did you get a chance to drive the car?

Why shouldn’t she get what she naturally wants without convincing?

It was raining. I'll drive it tomorrow unless it's still storming.

Still not sure about wheels and interior trim. Was thinking about 21" M 1037 and Individual Leder Merino.
For what it's worth, I went with 20" wheels instead of 21". While the 21" looks nice, I don't think it's worth the decrease in ride quality. Especially on the M50, which already has a sportier ride to begin with.

I went with the 20's because I couldn't find all season tires for the 21's in the factory sizes.

20's are still staggered, right?

Not a fan of staggered setups but hard to get away from them now!

Here’s mine. Performing all sorts of checks and software things. I did notice the rear right side of the bumper has a small plastic piece missing for now. Overall love the wheels and the wood option by the shifter looks much better then the silver imo.

Hope the storm does not damage any vehicles, I'm assuming they are outside while waiting for transport. Does anyone know?

That is the tow hook cover. They are shipped without them (front and back) installed and are put in as part of PDI.

I think most of the holding areas are under cover.

Good to know, as my x4 was awaiting a carrier.

Has anyone had success with accessing BMW site, they have been down all day?

All of their sites, except BMWUSA, seem to be down. They are not even delivering vehicles because dealers can't get to BMWFS. They are blaming it on the hurricane but not sure I believe that.

There should be zero concern for why a vehicle is stuck in QC. Remember, the factory operate using JIT so there is no inventory of parts. Let's say they noticed a scratched trim piece. It may take a week to order one and have shipped.
Add to that all the infrastructure challenges from Hurricane Helene, wouldn't be surprised if there are more delays.

I was able to start mine up n hear the exhaust today. Compared to my 2023 x3 m40i the exhaust has changed a lot. The muffler is different and the sound has more deep rumble compared to the throaty exhausts note of my LCI m40i.

But the best part is they brought back real burbles n pops. My LCI version has fake pumped in digitized burbles. The M50s are real. They aren’t 2018 m40i crazy pops n bangs, but I’m happy they gave the exhaust some soul.

After weeks stuck in "awaiting carrier dispatch" my X3 M50 has moved to step 190, "dispatched from factory."

I am on the east coast so assume it will arrive at the dealer in a couple days. Still no official word on when they can sell it to me, however.

My dealer in Chicago just confirmed that October 5th is the sale date and that's when they expect most of the sold vehicles to start arriving at dealerships.
