I'd be interested.
Initial impressions pretty happy. Filmed a semi warm start up with it this afternoon. This is with the wind sock on too. Sounds pretty much exactly what it does in person.

Old version with a Tascam DR22WL but on a cold start though. Mic peaked out during the fire up but it was a cold start. Also it picked up some background noise. The RODE didnt. I think it sounds more shallow/hollow and not as rich as the RODE.

Two different situations so it's difficult to compare but I do like the sound that RODE captures.

Thanks.

$1017.00 of my dollars I'll never see again. Son suckered my wife into buying these for him...and I'm a bit ticked.

I ran Bauers for a while but went to CCM custom fits and never turned back. What's he skated on previously?

Hah. Are those the 1x? We just got our son those a while back too. He used to skate on Grafs back in the day. The problem is, if you are competitive, which I'll assume yours is if you're shelling out that kind of money, then it's hard to go back "down" the performance scale once you've gone really high-performance. I feel your pain.

How do you like the tune? And how was your experience there? I am thinking about going with him to tune my M2.

My experience is that they've roughly doubled. Top of the line used to be $500-$700 dollars in mid 90s. There are plenty of good skates to be had in the $250-$400 range, if one is just playing but still wants good gear.

Good hockey equip is getting more and more pricey. Sticks are basically all carbon fiber now. Easton Stealth was real popular back in the early 00's, warrior seems to be a rising brand for sticks. The last warrior I got I think was $150, some can be upwards of $205+.

I just bought some Bose in ear noise canceling ear buds for the flight home. They are pretty awesome. Pricy, but awesome.

Lol, not really. Mostly 3 foot waves at their peak, do get some nice curls if you go to outer banks or crystal coast. I'd love to pack the board and travel to Cali or Hawaii one day, probably won't be until next year or the following depending on work. Water is really warm right now through summer, it will probably cool off in a month and a half and will have to switch wax to cool water.

If you're looking for some cheaper waves check out Central America. My wife has family there (El Salvador) and we've vacationed there a few times, we always have a bunch of surfers on our flights. There are quite a few beach houses for rent and a few nice hotels on the beach.

Always pushing the envelop, what with Deadliest catch and various pew-pews in the pic - BANNED!

If you came to NardCore, I *might* be able to sneak you into the water. Last Friday I think it was a balmy 67.
