Most likely a revolver. But think about this.... The kid also had to purposely point the gun at his mother. An action he has doubt seen in real life or TV.

So? Is it the kids fault?

The blame still goes to the mother for being negligent with a weapon...

Well I think most can differentiate real life from the internet. Emphasis on the word "most". From what I have seen around here some can't.

Seriously though why is the mom packing a gun while shopping with her baby at walmart. Afraid the lady in aisle 8 is going to steal that can of baked beans from her cart

America's gun problem? You are not naive enough to think banning all gun in the world will bring peace right?

Well if you think about that. Countries who have "banned" guns generally don't suffer from infants shooting their mothers while shopping for groceries.

So, it is now GUN'S fault, not mothers?

If your logic is correct, I think Canadians should stop the military training for accidental death. Ban "wood-and-sandbag structures"
http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/family-...dent-1.2091573

Countries can stop all the Ammonium Nitrate, guns, knife, pressure cookers, crazies will use other ways.
As for the accident, I hope we don't ban a vehicle, because there are too many accidental death as well.

We can tolerate taking our shoes and belts at the airport, militarization of police, drone killing innocents, torture, school shootings but we won't tolerate the government taking our guns away!

read my lips, from my cold dead hands!

God bless Merica, Walmart and Ronald Reagan.

Poor kids. Their mom is gone now.

Pro gun or anti gun its a sad incident. Simple fact is the more guns are allowed and the more easily they can be obtained, we will see more gun deaths. BUT that doesn't mean they should be banned. Its about acceptable risk.

This incident is clearly operator error. My question is this. Is crime so bad in Idaho, you need to carry a gun?

She was carrying the gun in a specialized conceal carry purse with a zip pocket designed for a firearm. Additionally she was a published nuclear scientist. The woman wasn't stupid but she did have a lapse in judgement by leaving the child alone with the purse.

For anyone wondering she was carrying a 9mm Smith and Wesson M&P Shield.

No need for anyone to carry a pistol while shopping at the Walmart.

Huh? Why not?

Can't someone be robbed at gunpoint at Walmart?

Can't there be a gunman who decides to light up the people inside Walmart?

No really sure if you were serious, but if you were, holy fuck that was a stupid statement

Find another country with similar population, similar drug problems, similar gang problems and similar number of firearms owned and we'll have that conversation.

Tragic.

Found a link as well.

"The boy removed the 9mm semi-automatic handgun from his mother's purse and shot her once in the head, killing her instantly, the sheriff's office said."
Quote:
boy unzipped the special gun compartment in the woman's purse where the weapon was kept while she was looking at clothing.

Terry Rutledge said his daughter-in-law did not put the weapon "loosely into her purse."

Just think, if she had left her gun at home locked up in a safe place, she would be alive today.

For the record...I am a firearm owner including handguns. I just don't see the need to wear them around with me like the wild west.
