Nope. OEM parts. A lot of GM parts for new stingrays, Impalas, Malibus, etc. Then we have a handful of Euro spec parts for VW, Mercedes, Audi, Cranecam, and Ferrari.

It was rough, but a little tenacity can go a long way. A lot of people start out that way, and I really didn't want to leave the shop I was at, but money and new experiences are worth it. I actually purchase tools from the shop I used to work at now, so in the end, it's a small world in manufacturing.

What's the name of your old shop?

Now I'm the customer buying the products I used to physically make.
You know you can't start a story with "When I was homeless" and not get asked to expand on it (unless it's too personal of a story).

It's a part of my life the public doesn't need to know. All I'll say is it probably could have made for a good movie script.

I know it would be asking too much from you billy boy but instead of writing about your homeless past, could you possibly illustrate it with your god given talents? A picture is worth a thousand words right?

If there's one thing I'll give you guys credit for, it's bringing out my inner Picaso. I'll be forever thankful, and hopefully one day I can pass my talents on to a mini-Billup (nomidgetplz).

Update: interview went well (I think) they are going to schedule me to come in next week to draw a couple projects and see how I do. So after I nail that the offer will come. Any advise on negotiating pay for a field that I don't have experience in? I have experience drafting, but only in the manufacturing field with the occasional floor plan.

Ask 200,000 a year and say you're open to negotiate.

Settle when they reach 150,000

That's a great plan in theory, though I don't believe much negotiating would happen after they laugh to death.

Update: the place that I was referencing above turned me down today, buuuuuuuut another place offered me a position today and I've accepted. They matched my current pay and are giving me a $5k bonus after a year. And then bumping my hourly wage by $5k a year after a year, they're also giving me a week of paid vacation after my 90 days. Sooo not exactly what I wanted ($20k more a year) but the environment seems much better than my current place. Thanks for all your kind words guys!
