OP, I work for a large-ish (multi-national so I guess we are decent size) company. NOTHING gets done quickly, unless you're on leave or term'd. I'm a Project Coordinator and I can assure you, people get to things when they get to them. Not to mention, the job market is nuts right now.
Our HR girl is stressed beyond belief between retention and new hires. Patience young grasshopper. I have not hired people in the past, for no reason other than being over-bearing before we even made a decision.
