But remember the GTR is a lot stricter with any type of mods and warrantee. U can put almost every bolt on the M3 and b able to keep ur warrantee, not so easy on the GTR, but i do understand where ur coming from.

On a highway race i wouldnt b surprised if an M3 with a chip and few mods like stickys car, would take the GTR.

Sorry but at 4.3 0-60 they do somewhat compare to the M3. I mean what was our best 0-60 time? 4.6? 4.5?
Because all comparisons are the ones in the straight line?

Removing launch control doesn't change GT-R laptimes.

Besides, I don't think anyone who bought an M3 or a GT-R are looking for drag racing. If that were the case, you would be in a C63 or CTS-V.

Warranty is on a dealer by dealer basis. E90post has seen it's fair share of ridiculous warranty work denials due to modifications that do not effect the problem.

Both brands have escalation procedures if the customer wants to fight it, but most of the time it's decided by dealer not corporate.

I don't think you guys understand that the GTR is not that fast

-Launch control does not make or break and AWD launch, it's still going to hook and get a nasty hole shot. 12.3 in the quarter mile is not that fast considering it's an AWD car.

-2006 EVO IX in stock form hit 12.9 in the quarter mile and as low as 4.7 seconds 0-60. Bolt ons have proven to get one into 11's, yes bolt ons and stock turbo.

-AWD cars lose highway races because of the lack of top end... sure 0-100 will be pretty quick but 60-130 will not even come close to that of a comparable, even lesser WHP RWD or FWD (providing it hooks up) car

-The price you are paying for this car in comparison to what you can get and it's lack of modability/durability is astonishing 12.3 with a hard launch isn't crap the C6 ZO6 is getting into the 10's with SLICKS and BONE STOCK. Fuck 12.3

The GTR is overrated, its figures were lied about and the car turned out to be not so hot after all and if you look into Porsches say on bullshit Nurburgring lap times of the GTR it will make plenty of sense. Shave $20,000 off the GTR MSRP and then we can speak of "good buys".

Here's a bone stock C6 ZO6 running an 11.1 @ 129mph, now that's fucking fast.

Those are CLAIMED LAP TIMES by Nissan. When Porsche got there hands on the GTR they couldn't come within ten seconds total lap time of the GT3 RS

eh, base price is 76,840 and premium is 79,090 straight from the website. how did you get those numbers?

just went to the chevy site and the red tag sale for a Z06 3LT is 74,728.65. market adjustments aside, they are nearly the same. does anyone research shit anymore?

edit: and yes those are 2009 gtr numbers, 2008 Z06.

I knew something had to be up when that price was first announced. That type of performance for the price of an RS4? There was no way the original price would stick.

2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZO6: $73,000

0-60 mph: 3.7

1/4 mile: 11.7 @ 125 mph

Lateral G: 1.04

60-0 braking: 111.3 ft

Nurburgring time: 7:42

2009 Nissan GTR: $93,000

0-60 mph: 4.3

1/4 mile: 12.3

Lateral G: 0.99

60-0 braking: 108 ft

Nurburgring time: 7:38

Something isn't adding up. The skid pad advantage goes to the ZO6, the 0-60 mph as well by a hair and the 1/4 mile SIGNIFICANTLY, braking is off by 3 feet and yet the GTR supposedly does the Nurburgring 4 seconds faster? Hmmmmm, Porsche even said that the only way they could have even come close to achieving there claimed times was by using slicks.
