My initial impression agrees with you. I just tend to reserve full judgment until I have seen a car in-person with the M performance or full M treatment since those are the only models I buy.

Can't be it. Would not be surprised though. Amazing what you can get used to.

Same here. I only get m at this point. I have a g87 and enjoy the look. At first I didn't then saw in person. I stopped judging until i see for myself. It's always different in person.

I may be the only one here 😃but Thumbs up from me. My wife is the owner of 3 generations of prior X3’s (current one being 2023 X3 Sdrive 35i), this looks more squarish, blunt and modern. Good lines. Grill feels different, introduces visual variety/complexity, keep trying something new.

This looks like the base model, so there's hope the M-Sport grille will look different/better.

This is the all-electric model, right?
It has a giant charge port in the fender and has a ton of design elements similar to the iX. The grille doesn't even look like it has any openings for airflow. This has to be electric... |

That’s because they are designing their cars for the Chinese market.

Absolutely horrible. I saw someone mention how these vehicles are starting to become similar to the design of Kia, Hyundai, and other brands… which is very true, unfortunately.

Macan is noticeably smaller than the X1. Not an X3 competitor.
Having said that, I agree with what you're saying. This new design is not for me either, and I would certainly go back to a Macan over this... even though the Macan is severely overpriced and is less practical and smaller in the back compared to even a 3-series. The X1 M35i is probably the play for me now as a winter vehicle. Disappointing.

Everyone in forums complains about new BMWs compared to the current generation, then BMW sells more of the new generations than the past.
🤷‍♂️ If BMW listened to the commentariat they’d probably go bankrupt.
