Thanks! Blacked out you really don’t see it as much. If you blacked out the border you’d see it even less. Not worried about this at all. Pretty conservative design. M sport will definitely look good. If they upgraded the ride, seats and gave the m50 a bit more power everyone will so quickly forget and be eating their words of an internet inspired overreaction .

You are likely right, what choices do many people have anyway? Comparable Audi drives blander, Alfa is gone / not as reliable, Mercedes interior and exterior designs haven't been captivating though that new CLA is quite a looker. I'm beginning to think BMW more conservatively designs the X3 and 3 Series as they're its bread and butter and leave the designers to make funkier vehicles for the rest of the line-up. |

The x3 m40 powertrain is unmatched. Bmw tech is great and reliability has been great too! But the x3 m40 rides like crap compared to an sq5 or Macan. If they improve the ride quality like how the new 5 series is being celebrated for - this car will be a home run. Especially if it’s a little bigger inside - oh man. |

My wife bought a '23 CPO M40i and even with 20" RFTs, the suspension seems decent in comfort mode. It's definitely better than on our '11 Accord (I know it's no contest lol) on 17" wheels. I think many of you have been owning luxury cars/SUVs that you can really tell the stark differences. I just knew I had to get the M Sport Differential at the minimum but many used M40is in Canada don't even come equipped with that. We weren't really in the market for a SQ5 or any Audi and my wife did test drive a Macan S in August 2023 when we were thinking of going for the Macan EV. I was seated inside the vehicle and you are probably right, the suspension is really good even with springs and PASM. We withdrew our deposit on the Macan 4 because it couldn't even be equipped with PTV Plus, started about $12-13,000 than we expected and it would be like $30,000 higher than a brand new M40i, which was probably even being discounted between 6-8% easily. Also realized, battery technology/longevity is not there yet and I'd wait until closer to end of the decade to find BEVs with solid state batteries that should be more durable and longer-lived with little risk of thermal runaways. I wish BMW will not continue with the Neue Klasse design on many of its future BEVs and leave it to a few models Even if BMW does build more efficient (driving range) BEVs than Audis and has better software, I just don't dig these futuristic exterior designs that I may not even consider them down the road. |

Agree, the side profile is pretty much identical with the current X1. The X3 side profile will be, as you said, much closer to the iX.

This does not look good. Hoping the rendering isn't accurate...

I have a fear that most if not all future BMWs will have horrible design. This is obviously subjective, but from all new BMWs I only like design of 3 series G20, 8 series and X5. New 5 looks disproportional and rear reminds me Camry. It is rare to see nice BMW design nowadays and this is the reason decided to get G20 M340 this year. I am afraid next version of 3 series will be ugly like most new BMW. Shame to have such a great technological cars with greatest engines and such a bad design. I kept my e46 M3 and after 20 years of ownership i still adore that super proportional and beautiful coupe in my garage.

But you are right, those are the only vehicles I like. When I visited the BMW Welt in 2019, most of the vehicles on display were the 8 Series GCs. The Chinese manufacturers can easily make great looking cars, I'm surprise BMW and Mercedes are having a hard time as of late. |

This wasn't leaked by BMW. I guess that image is part of the official press kit which is under embargo for another few days, but one of the recipients leaked it.

Horatiu never denied the IG image posted and I'm sure he has seen photos, just like how some people here have. He even has the article on bmwblog lol!
We, part of the public, will have to wait until the 18th to confirm who's making things up and why people like HB, kept mum about the photo and never flat out denied it. I'm betting the photo is legit but maybe taken at not so glamorous / unflattering angle. Last edited by internalaudit; 06-11-2024 at 10:12 AM.. |

Why would anyone hate on someone because they have a different perspective on matters as minor as a grill design? You are entitled to your opinions.
I've experience lots of hate for EV fanboys/girls though for sharing lessons I learned from more knowledgeable EV owners - calendar aging owing to keeping batteries at high SOC, lack of reasonable cost OEM replacement packs, why not to go with remanufactured packs, and how individual battery cell replacement is a band-aid solution, how some solid state batteries (just a catch all for anything without liquid electrolytes) are already here. That's a very different breed of people I must say. |

Opinions.....?
Not sure about the look. Spoke to my dealer today and told me they would have official info in about a month. I had dropped by to see what my options are at lease end on my '22 X3 M40i. Timing early November so not going to have a whole lot of time to check out the G45 after introduction before needing to make some type of decision. We also checked out an Audi Q5 (had one before the X3 and still like the BMW better) and a Porsche Macan S. Test drove the Porsche and it drives well and is nicely appointed, but the sticker was 91K and it feels tighter/more cramped than the X3. So what would you guys think about these choices? The current X3 has 21K miles on it and the Porsche dealer offered about $41K for it. The payoff now is around $38K and at lease end low $30's.
So ? 1) Keep the '22 X3 M40i - can't beat the price and mileage is very low. 2) Upgrade to a G45 X3 for another 3yrs 3) Forget the money and the brand and get a Macan S - forget that the E-version is coming soon. 4) Look at something else? It's for my wife and she's not into electric, or I'd say an Ionic N. |

They should have it way before that. Production starts in August so pricing guides and allocations should be out shortly.

Not sure how much of this is real, but could be the most detail with interior specifics including cabin and back seat air vents, plus seat pockets
