Nice Latteral change from your 335i.

I looked at the minis when they came out in 03, but the nearest dealer was 200 miles away,, not service friendly.

But now there is one in town,,, makes me wanna look at the mini again.

They do have alotta room inside.

Whats the price on the JCW?

Your car looks GREAT.

Great pics too.
How did you get in there?
Surprisingly the gates are wide open and the Mini is small enough to fit through them

They are a hoot to drive. Darting through traffic and parking are great. I paid just under 27 and KBB builds out that it is worth that still after one year!

29.2 mpg here in Dallas.

The first thing I did were Eibachs. They sit HIGH. PM me if you are lowering...probably a dumb question looking at your 335 mods list, I found a great price. 6'2" here too and plenty of leg room. The car does not feel so small while driving.

I am sure you are already a member, but NAM is full of info.

Hooked on Minis for life. Be careful hauling ass over dips in the road. They tend to lift you out of the seat a bit.

Change is always good IMO.
Yea Im on NAM and M|U as well. Lost of good info but the forums are slightly slower then on here and most of the other forums Im on.

Its actually Midnight Black, they brought the color back for 2009 ... I actually like it better then the Astro Black as its darker and more of a true black.

I already have coilovers on the way, and have already bought the Euro Fenders some audio upgrades, and a HSport Comp rear sway bar. Wheels are next on the list

The JCW start at $29K with no options ... mine was $32K with some very basic options ... but its all I needed as it still has more options then my old Evo did. I actually looked at getting a Evo, but I felt it wasnt adult enought for my daily, plus the mini gets better gas milage and is more limited in to modding (and parts are way cheaper!) then the Evo is so it will be better on my wallet.

...sort of.

I wanted BLACK but the AB was it for choice. I like it and all...really metallic midnight blue but plain ol' black would have been nice. You may see me w/ one some day.

Going to unload mine here soon. Knock on wood, moving to an island and a beater of some shape will be on the boat. The sun and salt will eat my MCS alive. Good brakes for the mountains and a good a/c unit are all I care about for this journey. Maybe a little truck to put my kite surfing and diving gear in.

Enjoy the modding!

It really is a well under estimated car ... its tons of fun to drive.

Here is a review my friend wrote and he drives a modified Evo VIII

its 12345 and its there, no wheel spin really, no flat spot in power delivery, just a seamless pull to 60. Loads of midrange torque and a perfect factory exhaust. The handling is retarded, its no fuss just goes and does everything you want it to. I was at first sceptical about a 30k mini but this thing is really worth its weight in gold, I mean us being us we always want something more right away but that thing honestly needs nothing and I would hesitate to even mod it away the practicality perfect of a streetable track car.

I think every Manufacturer should offer a car that is tailored to the track like this. I mean I couldn't imagine a Evo X that would mirror the modifications of this car. Evo X, TE, Clubsport dampers, lowered, little thingswell actually like this...

As someone noted above:

"35K sure is alot of money for one"

People see this little car and figure it should not cost much.

For 27K I personally could have had a 4 door this or a 2 door that....

Bottom line. Unless you own/have owned or spend some actual time in one you just don't get the build quality, handling and fun factor these "little" cars supply. IMO.

I popped the rears seats down this past weekend and took a multi-fold ladder I have for a friend to borrow too!

What's interesting to me is the demographics of people who drives them. I have a friend who has a Carrera GT and he has a Mini GP as a daily - which to me is pretty extreme considering the ride quality. It is a blast to drive though.

To your point, the Mini will never win the value game...but there's certainly an x-factor to the package that some will pay a premium for.

Yea I know a lot of other guys with high end weekend cars (P-Cars, Lambos, AMG MB, ect) that have Mini's as daily drivers. I think the reason being is they are still classy, have a unique and fashionable sense to them, great on gas milage, fun to drive, easy to park, and cheap to insure. As long as you dont have kids they are actually quite a practical car.
