You are correct, but those features aren't size prohibitive.

yeah, I understand that this car was not built to go fast, it was built for a specific audience in mind. The shape was designed for a reason (areodynamic). Although I cannot find any pricing on it yet, I agreed with you all that it will not be a cheap hybrid.

Hybrid and luxury or not, 10K in price difference played a major role for any car buyer. The honda insight looks nice as well and probably less expansive. Competition is always good to have and mean more choices for the consumer.

OP....I dunno what you see in it but it's just a suped up ''Corolla" with a Lexus badge and some hybrid goodies. It's like the camry with a Lexus badge (ES350).

Personally, I dont like it.

And an E36 M3 is just a "suped up" 318 with an ///M badge and some go-faster goodies....

And yeah, an ES 350 is just a glorified Camry, but those "goodies" are worth the premium to a whole lot of people. It's just all about personal taste. I think this thing will catch on just fine, but you will probably never see it at any club racing events.

I dunno about an e36 M3 but the e46/e92 M3 looked good being "suped up" ....!

Anyway, I was just talking about the design being too similar to a Corolla. Lexus could have made it a little more different ....It just doesnt look or feel like a Lexus....!

BTW, I one of the few people who likes Lexus as a brand. So, I aint ranting on it...

No, I get where you're coming from. I like Lexus as well, so I'm not hating on it. I was just saying people pay premiums for "tweaks" and "additions" in different types of areas for different types of reasons. Plenty of people would buy this car, so in that respect alone, it's a success. It does look too much like a Corolla in my opinion too, but I'd be willing to bet the experience within the cabin is a whole different animal. I don't care what a car looks like or if it's ugly. That's why I bought an E90.

so what many of you are telling me is when it is time for me to buy this car, I should just buy a corolla and then find a Lexus HS 250h badge on ebay and just slap that onto the corolla and instantly voila I get that lexus experience with my corolla?

Yes that is the observation that many members have agreed upon. I think it might work with my car if I slap a M3 badge. Pics soon!
