That's one of the 3 billion things that sucks about that state. From the 9.5% state tax I was paying to the $580 vehicle registration they stole from me for the 135, you'd think that they could fix a road now and again, but apparently not.

Before anyone jumps on the California is awesome band wagon I will say that there are a few positives.

1. Its warm year round
2. Some of the most beautiful places I've seen in the world exist in California
3. The girls are attractive.
4. There are cool cars roaming the streets that you don't get to see elsewhere


The only problem with all that is that EVERYTHING ELSE SUCKS.



I can only speak to the LA area, but here are some examples.

• Homes are expensive
• Rent is expensive
• Food is expensive
• Flying in/out of LA is expensive because its at the edge of the country
• Car ownership is expensive (gas/insurance, etc.)
• The traffic is terrible
• Its dirty as hell
• The police are a total fucking joke
• I have never been around so many self centered, egotistical people in my life
• The roads are total shit
• The summers are just too damn hot
• The beaches are crowded and dirty as hell (sometimes so dirty that you can't even swim in the ocean)
  

It really does go on and on... I lived in LA for 4 years. I'm happy that I did, I had some really good times there. But, I'm not upset that I left in the slightest.

Of course it's expensive, it's LA :P
+To truly enjoy LA, you have to be in the hills :P

Ya our roads suck!!! and yes ther is ALWAYS cunstruction going on. but we make up for it in weather.

All depends where you live. Irvine + South OC are fine for the most part.
