dissapointing
what about app support for android and blackberry 10. They should at least have app support for the top 3 smartphones. The iphones dated and yet is the only smartphone to get app support. Sad.

Anyone have luck getting IDrive to accurately control spotify running on an iPhone? Spotify will play through my iDrive, occasionally album art and song titles will show up on screen, but if I try to change tracks via the steering wheel controls or IDrive the Spotify app on my phone will pause.

To the people wanting Spotify via BMW Apps, can you please comment on the official Spotify thread below and add Kudos? Spotify are monitoring it and will proceed if there is enough interest.

I hate BMW Connect. I connects and disconnect on it's own, my screen has to be lit and when connected it still prompts me to connect my already connected iphone. It sucks when it works and sucks even more when it's buggy.

I have only seen my iPhone overheat twice; once leaving it in on the dash during a hot summer day and today, driving for 1.5 hours with it docked in the snap in adapter. My snap in adapter even has a fan, but doesn't really help.

I find it hilarious that all German marques can engineer these amazing cars...but can't seem to do anything electronics/computer/software related.

BMW Apps: The industry’s most comprehensive smart phone
I beg to differ. BMW is trailing at the back. Most other automotive manufacturers including the budget offerings have more to offer now. Once, BMW was innovating ... Now they are struggling to keep up. Tunein .... Well tunein already power bmws own web radio as part of BMW connected so what's the big deal here ? BMW apps platform is junk. If you're in one app you can't use the features of the other. Listening to Pandora ... Want to check your news feed .... ? You can't. You have to manually close pandora and open BMW connected app. The whole thing needs to be rebuilt from the ground up again. |

New apps?
How can I try this new apps? Should I find and install them from iTunes on iPhone? Or it should be a part of this BMW Connected app?
EDIT: Or I need only to run TuneIn on iphone while connected via USB and I will have it on BMW screen? Last edited by SuriF30; 03-28-2013 at 02:04 AM.. |
