Most camparos are the RS3, Amg45, and the hatch M135

But i guess we can squeeze the x1 in there

The m235 should be close to the cla amg45

I would love a hatch M135, but once again we get screwed over in the USA. Don't understand what the Germans have against Americans who want fast, practical cars.

But until we get some more options, I'm fine with my 12.5 second 1/4 mile X1. Even though it is ugly from the back.

I've alread seen 3 CLA45 AMGs around Toronto recently. I think it's gonna be a big hit in Canada.

I wanna do a test drive of it. I think this would be a fun little DD in Canada.

I've seen a few CLA250s but no AMG's yet (I live in the US). I think for the $33k price tag I've seen at Mercedes dealers for fairly well equipped 250s, it's well priced for what it is. I think Acura TL's and Lexus ISs will be affected.

Still a bad comparison, since there is no A45 in the US either, so just keep it to the much smaller, sportier and available with all three pedals M135i.

Comparing an X1 to the CLA45 is sort of like comparing the RS7 to the X1.

Just because it's kinda fast doesn't make it comparable. A Mustang is plenty fast but will not be cross shopped with the CLA either.

EDIT: I agree, you can't compare an X1 to the CLA, and I never did. Totally different. I would argue it's extremely similar to the A45 though.

Why brag about what is essentially a mini SUV on low profile tires being fast lol? The X1 is cool we get it, but no need to justify your purchase by constantly insisting it is an M3 killer. Reminds me of the N54 vs S65 debates that spanned years ago till now. I feel bad for ybbiz34.

I'll feel better if everyone that started discussing the X1 chips in with respect to my CLA45 fund.

All off-topic posts (i.e., off-topic posts with respect to THIS THREAD) have been deleted.

Y'all can compare the X1 to the A45 or whatever else in a separate thread until your hearts are content.

Thanks.

Love the car, however a lightly-optioned to fullly-optioned running between $57k - 64K. I lol'ed and walked out of the dealership. Base started at $48k.

S4, S3, 235 or M2 are the front runners for my next vehicle.

I too would balk at $64K for a vehicle slotted below the C-Class.

That said, I would be cool with $57k considering the performance (and looks, in my opinion) beats the S4 and M235i.

I'm really not feeling the feminine lines on the side profile of the 2-series. Too reminiscent of the feminine side profile of the 1-series and 1M. I love the front and rear on the 1-series/1M but man, the side profile absolutely kills it for me.

Expect a well-optioned M235i to be right there at $57k as well.

$57k for a 235? I cannot see that.

My '11 135 was $42k. $15k more for 3 years removed? Unless it is a completely different class of car.

I could be wrong. Thought I encountered some potential pricing info recently.

You don't think that there will be a decent-sized price increased now that it is a 2 instead of a 1?

Yeah that is not happening. I expect the M235i to come at or slightly below 135is msrp.

M2 will be upper $50k with options.

I think there was pricing info floating around from a South African spec sheet. I could be wrong, but i thought it was from there.

I think base price for my MY11 was $37k.

I think you'll be a able to get a nice 235 for $44k.

I really wish the m235 look nothing like the current 1...if its $40k-50k, this could very well be my next car.
If not, then a msport 335 or s4 for a lil more money

The car looks like utter shit. I can't believe the company that once sold the small W201 now is selling this. Benz has lost it's touch.
