 Not taken by a pro, just me as an amateur on my Nikon D5100. Photo was taking somewhere in New Mexico, on my drive from Florida to California. Played with it in lightroom a bit too

My buddy took this picture, but he placed the camera on a tripod and took about 30 shots illuminating the car from various angles, and stitched it together.

How do you guys produce some very clear and crisp pictures? I have a Canon 70D with Kit lens and my pictures don't look as good as some of these especially like @Wes Howell's photos.. Maybe it is the lens? or you guys use a tripod?
