I've never stopped to examine it close up, but I think that some of the lane dividers in the south use shallow grooves under the paint to amplify the reflectivity. I would imagine that they fill in with salt/sand in snowy areas, nullifying any reflectivity advantage. Attempts to recess reflectors into the pavement to make them plow-safe will probably also quickly clog up in the north.

Florida uses raised road reflectors for lanes and stuff, including blue reflectors on local streets to highlight fire hydrants for first responders. These obviously would not survive a snow plow blade.

The NY State Thruway deployed some flexible flappy-type lane marker reflectors at a few exit ramps about 10-15 years ago, which I suspect would better survive a plow blade. Those suckers were *bright* at night! I just looked at the 2021 Google Maps street view of one exit that had them, and they are no longer in place.....

Waits for the smart ass youngins to chime in. Just wait. The struggle is real.

Time to get to work. Lots going on today.
That's because Florida is like a grave yard for elefants but for people, and they need the extra help to be able to see JK

You know you're old when you're having to google translate "deadass", "low key", and "no cap" - so that you can have meaningful conversation with your kids/employees/other forum members.

After my cataract surgery the new lenses got some cloudy spots after a few months. I had a procedure done called YAG laser capsulotomy which cleared up the cloudiness. Don't know if that could be a thing for you to do since you have newer and probably more advanced lenses than me and they may not need it. You can ask your doctor.

You mean you can still write your name? Good for you.

They were fun. Turn it upside down and shake it then start over again.

I didn't know that old iPads had knobs in the front!

Pro tip - If you ever need to reboot it, simply hold it over your head and the screen will magically go blank.....

I started doing a stretching routine. It feels great. I've never had to stretch before. Does this mean I'm in the club now?

I exercise 3 times a week. Mostly focusing on leg/knee exercises. Trying to ward off knee pain so I can take my 3 mile walk 6 nights a week. Squats, lunges, stair stepping, (all with weights) etc. Always end with 20 min. of stretching. Feels so good.

I'd guess you're in your forties? If so, then no, you're not in the club yet.

3 miles?!! That's nowhere even close to 10K steps a day!! Lol.

My body (back mostly) has all been jacked up since I got taken out from behind by an idiot on an e-bike. But maybe I should keep incorporating stretching.

So I guess not until I start working out so that I can stave off knee pain to walk 3 miles. Not there yet but it's good to know these metrics lol

I'm 67 so I think I'm doing pretty good. Some people on here (older than me) do more but I'm not trying to win a competition. Just stay youthful.

Love my walk at night. My favorite part of the day. I try to keep it brisk. Love the fresh air and love walking at night time.

You know what's funny? My favorite of all my cardios is when I just walk for 5-6 miles along the beach path. I do like going during the day as I can get my tan on while doing cardio but yeah, the night walks are quite lovely. You can hear the seals all out and about throwing up mating calls. Occasional whale or dolphin will come up and breach the water.

But walking gives me the opportunity to take in all the lovely scenery and also listen to podcasts or music or hop on a conference call lol

Walking at the beach every night, now that would be a dream come true.

What time do you go? I usually go around 9:30 pm.

Depends on the weather lol. Usually try to knock it out in the morning / before breakfast as I like to do my cardio while my body is in a state of fast.

But if I can't make it in the morning, I'll do it at night. Usually before or 30 mins after dinner.
Summer time late at night is amazing though. 9-10pm when there's less people out. Obviously sunset is nice as well.
