Esteban I didn’t want to muddy the “What song are you listening to?” thread. Your post about Part Time Lover and Maneater got me thinking about name that tune. Long ago, before our cars would show us what song was playing, we would play I can name that tune in 3 notes. I was damn good at that! I need to play both your links and see if I would have heard the similarities.

I'm sure you will hear the similarities in those songs. I didn't get it right away but after a while I realized why I posted the Stevie Wonder song. |

Okay true story, don't laugh to hard.
When I first came to Canada back in the early 80's I worked with an older Italian man and he used to tell me this all the time... Last night I was so tired that I fell asleep on the chesterfield. I'm not lying, my English wasn't that good (it still isn't ) anyway, I didn't know the difference back then, I thought that the guy was sleeping on a chest drawer. I thought to myself, this guy is crazy, but I didn't say anything to him at time. He kept saying that to me every few days. So one day I said to him. Are you crazy? What are you doing sleeping on top of the furniture? And that's when I found out that a chesterfield was a sofa/couch |

...in Canada-speak. Say it south of the border, and most Americans will give you that confused, tilt-head dog look.....

My grandmother called the couch a chesterfield. She also called it a davenport. We sat on it while listening to the Lone Ranger radio show. My lawn, my story!

It pisses me off that my 2022 doesn’t have a CD player. In my last few vehicles I could play the CD once and save it. No mas. I don’t do the music on my phone so now I’m stuck with Sirius. What do my fellow old folks do? Do I need to get Shoei to teach me this apple play nonsense? Playlists? He’s gonna want a rub in return Argh! Get off my lawn.

I have Sirius and a CD player so I don't feel your pain but I sympathize with you. |

I use Spotify, load up a playlist and it's great. It does use your phone data so best to be on an unlimited plan like I have with Verizon. Have Apple music as well, both are similar in terms of creating playlists and then the phone connects through the wifi and bluetooth in the car. The only tedious part is creating the playlists...

Lol. Yes, we keep in touch. So you think owing him a rub is worth it?

Might get me banned from this thread but it really is easy. No changing CD's, you start the car and the phone automatically connects and starts playing your music. Easy to create any playlist you want, oldies , classic rock, Lawrence Welk , jazz, Blues, dance, what ever. I also use the Spotify to play my music at home in SC where it seamlessly connects with the Sonos amps driving my in-ceiling and outdoor speakers. Sorry, I'l get off your lawn now...
