Haha... yeah, my daughter's been married several years now so I wouldn't be trying to set her up with anybody. Her husband probably wouldn't like that too much.

Besides, I kinda like him. He treats her well and he's not a bad guy. If he didn't treat her well then I might need the shotgun.

Was really just telling the youngster above I have a daughter who is 40 so get off our lawns.

I was just pulling your weeds. You can share my lawn anytime. My oldest kid is now 45 and my youngest is 40! It's all good.

Spent a couple hours working on sprinklers today. Knees hurt and back hurts. Don't usually feel old from doing a little work but today I do.

My last hospital stay started during an August heatwave. After every nurse shift change, I was asked what my temperature preference was because they thought that my room was too cold. My reply was always "You can't make it too cold...and consider that a challenge!"

One evening at the start of the overnight shift, a nurse asked if they could hold their pre-shift meeting in my room because the AC at the nurse's station was not working. Not a problem with me to share my cold.

The funniest thing was when word spread around the hospital that there was a patient's room cold enough to be the morgue. At least three times per shift, nurses from faraway floors/units (like maternity) would show up to "check on me" and see if I needed anything. I suspect that many of them were of menopausal age, and were there just because of the AC that I was sharing.....

My girlfriend looked at me all bright eyed and said she had shaved her legs. I thought great now I have to clear the drain as it must be clogged!

Whatever age we are, we think we are old. To me, what matters most is my attitude about it. I know friends my age who are sitting there waiting to go. I'm having the time of my life.

If you are in your forties and think you are old, just do a reset. You are just getting started! If you do it right, you save some money along the way and retire at a reasonable age. There's no way to explain how great it is to be able to bounce grand kids on your knee one day and take a trip the next with no need to be in a hurry.

Keep lurking on this thread and take some pointers. When you really get old, you can put your toe on our lawn and work your way to the center.

My first Army duty assignment was in Hanau, Germany in early 1968. Man, was that ever an eye-opener. While on gate guard duty, I enjoyed watching the pretty frauleins walking by... until I spotted a lot of long leg hair under their panty-hose.
