Still trying to find an ECU flash tune for the car. The only company I found thus far is in Germany and you have to send your ECU to them to be cloned. The good thing is they will get the engine back the power this engine gets in a standard 911 with the 3.4L. Bad news, they want $4K put shipping both ways. The gains in HP and TQ are not worth that much money.

Why would you want to flash a NA car?

Would that void the warranty? I am looking at the 981 as my next car december/jan when my 1ers new car warranty expires. Your comparisons would also help, how the P car fares as a daily compared to the bimmer.

BGB Motorsports is now offering a Stage 1 Tune Kit, new headers, throttle body, BMC air filters, and a new ECU from a tuner out of Germany. Pushes power from 325 HP to 370 HP which is even better than the 911 power with the same motor (3.4 L). The kit installed is just under $10K which is wwwwway too much money.

Softronics has been advertising a new tune for the 981 since the beginning of the year and no a peep from them since. Not going to spend thousands of dollars to gain 45 HP. If a cheaper solution doesn't happen I will more than likely just enjoy the car for a couple of years then sell it for something newer.

Traditionally, making more power out of a turbo engine involves a tune or new DP and a tune. Increases up to 20% are possible and easily noticed. This due to cramming more air and fuel in the cylinder under high pressure.

On an NA engine, it's nowhere near as easy. New headers, exhaust and cams are usually necessary for significant gains, and they are far more expensive than the same % increase on a turbo engine. Welcome to NA engines.

Congrats. I plan on test driving a Cayman S, older than 2014 though, this spring when I go test drive crazy to see if anything makes me want to sell my Z06.

What do you love about it? (Sorry if posted already. Did not read whole thread)
