This year, I believe the gap in development between the top dogs and the trailing pack to gradually get narrower..

F1 teams suffer freight delays for Chinese GP
"At least four F1 teams – McLaren, Red Bull, Mercedes and Aston Martin – have suffered freight delays after two flights from Melbourne to Shanghai have been delayed by at least eight hours, so the teams did not receive their cargo until late Wednesday afternoon. These teams were only able to unpack their freight in the pitlane and build their cars from 4pm local time onwards." https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/f...e-gp/10704839/ |

They have only 1 hour to explore the new (slippery)! asphalt layer...
![]() McLaren has the advantage on this track , their tires don't run hot on the new Chinese asphalt layer. Once again ,in the race the Papaya pace will dominate... The papaya tires last forever. Their tire cooling system (invention) is genius.. If they don't get scratched then P1 and P2 is for McLaren (!)

With the weather set to be dry for the Chinese GP, unlike the chaos of Australia, we can expect an exciting race this Sunday without too many safety car interruptions. Beyond the racing, fans have plenty to enjoy, from live music and F1-themed experiences to a special Zhou Guanyu fan event and even a pet-friendly day. A full breakdown of the best events and fan zones can be found here. The Fan Zone behind the grandstand will also be packed with interactive activities, great food, and official merch.

More news on the clampdown by FIA on the bendy wing situation. It's worth noting that RBR ran their rear wing at Melbourne with FIA fully legal no corner bending flexing which would have given MCL an extra 2-3 tenths and though the 0.5 mm maximum gap rule gets officially installed for Japan all eyes will be on them if they continue with a similar wing for Shanghai. So if MCL stay put with this last chance saloon mod then it's possible they will win at China to Brown's shame.

RIP Eddie Jordan
![]() https://www.gpblog.com/en/news/33353...y-aged-76.html What a sad news. Eddie Jordan was the founder of the Jordan Grand Prix team, the team now known as Aston Martin Racing. Jordan's cars had some crazy livery back in the day (late '90s): Shark nose, Hornet nose (Buzzin Hornets), Serpent nose (Hissing Sid)..." I always thought his cars were one of the best looking.

And the play on words when cigarette advertising was banned in some countries, and the sponsor name was changed to Buzzin Hornets replacing the Benson & Hedges logo.
Ferrari did the same with the Marlboro logo, Red with white stripes. The name was removed, but you knew the logo. |

Just like the current McLarens have "Love" on the side in countries where some vaping/nicotine products can't be advertized (Velo is a nicotine candy with fruit flavour I believe?)

McLaren has insisted that the same configuration of rear wing that it used in the Bahrain test and Australia will continue to be raced in China without modification – and that it will pass the new test.
Norris even suggested that McLaren’s wing was probably not flexing enough compared to others. "We don't have to change anything," he said. "Ours is fine. In fact, ours is probably too good and we probably are not pushing the limits enough honestly." Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc said that his team was in the "same" situation as McLaren of not needing to make modifications. https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/f...ms-chinese-gp/ |
