I am a BMW customer. I am interested in the SS Camaro.

though I'd be significantly more interested if there were a variant that included satnav.

I'll add my two sense as well. Mustang? Zero interest in any model in the last 40 years (although I did like that Mustang show model that was designed by one of the Italian design houses). New Charger/Challenger? Zero interest. Old camaros? Zero interest. Yet for some reason, I think the new camaro looks pretty hot. Would I trade my 335xi for it? No, but it's still a pretty well designed car. I'll be first in line to say that American car companies have produced an awful lot of crap, but nothing wrong with giving some kudos where kudos are due, and I think Chevy did about as well as they could. Just because I'm not usually a fan of Japanese cars, doesn't mean I'd turn my nose up at Godzilla.

A satnav will be offered in the Camaro. Although I don't know exactly when.

i can't believe this thread is still going on about this. whoever said that this forum is full of people who pretend to be car enthusiasts is a genius. most people on this forum are a joke. the brand of a car shouldn't matter. its all about the driving experience. the camaro and the 335 experience are going to be completly different. If i had a choice to pick either or i probably would pick the camaro ss/rs.

Yes, I went to the BMW dealership here in manhattan and test drove the car I have, then went across the street to the GM dealership and sat in the Camaro, I wan't comfortable and like I said, couldn't even test drive it, cause I was too tall for it... I'm coming from a Honda Accord, so this is quite an upgrade for me, yeah I had a wide selection of cars to choose from, but I didn't want to go acura cause I already had a honda, so that's why i went with a BMW (always wanted one anyway)

What?! Using nicer interior materials drastically increases the cost of a vehicle. GM could have put an interior in it like they did the CTS-V, but you're not going to get a V8 with 435Hp for $33k then.

This car is about people who put price and performance above luxury.

I remember in kindergarten, my teacher explaining the difference between "fact" and "opinion". At the raw age of 6 it was a pretty easy concept to wrap my mind around....it pains me to see that some still haven't figured it out.

when people see the new camaro they turn and look and point, when people see a new bmw nobody gives a shit, too common and boring

I love the new camaro but the interior is shit as noted above. Hopefully they can sort that out in 5-6 years when I sell the 135i

So go look at the June Road and Track. They test the Camaro SS and have the stats on the 335i in the road test review. The Camaro SS is $11K less and beats the 335i in every performance category, including the 700 ft. slalom.

Not even on the map for me when shopping for a car. The more I see on the road the more I think it looks like a cartoon. Would take the Genesis 3.8GT coupe any day over that thing.

I have a hard time believing this, all the magazines comment on how they would not buy one for mountains or autocross

I dunno, I bought a 135i for that stuff

but the camaro does not have very good numbers at the slalom or 60-0 in every review I've read when compared to other cars tested at the same time. On one by road and track, the camaro SS got .87 and 66.8 mpg, and the 2010 mustang gt got .93 & 69.3, that speaks for itself, road and track got .90 and 68.7 out of the 335i when they tested it

I love the camaro, but it's not a car for the twisties, it's pretty big and heavy, the 335i also beats it in 60-0 tests

so I dunno how they managed to get a camaro ss to beat the 335 in every test

source 335i Edmunds, Popular Mechanica Camaro SS

335i
0-60 4.8 seconds
1/4 mile 13.4 seconds @104.3 mph
60-0 109 feet
Skid pad .89 G

Camaro SS

0-60 4.90 seconds
1/4 Mile 13.02 @111.43
60-0 107.8 feet
Skid pad .83 G

pretty close if you ask me

edit:
As i am looking at more tests i am seeing better numbers out of the camaro in 0-60 and the skid pad. The 335 and the camaro ss balance out in performance if you ask me. The camaro will be more moddable once it gets out. Look at all of the stuff for it now. Both cars are nice

be careful comparing against two separate tests and even more, two separate testing magazines

pretty soon someone will do a shootout and test them back to back, although i would like to see the 135i vs the camaro

111MPH trap speed is damn fast. That car will run well into the 12s in the hands of owners with nothing more than a set of drag radials.

I would get one. I can see that a lot of guys like to wear pink shirts with flip flops and rock a mohawk haircut. The camaro is not meant for driving down the main blvd and look cool it's made to be driven. It's obvious that camaro buyers don't care about the interior. If there no 335s, 135s I would be driving something else(i.e 350Z, S2000, WRX STI, EVO). I don't care about luxury and there's a lot of cars that I would get before 328's, 128's since I track and I enjoy driving a powerful and balanced car. See folks the Lotus has a crappy interior but it's meant for something else. I'd get one before any current M(except the M coupe).
