Wow not sure what you do or where you go that you feel the need to keep an assault rifle in your trunk at all times, but what realistic scenario exists where running to your car to pull that thing out is ever going to HELP the situation?

I think you're both missing the point here. The only time I would ever draw my weapon on someone is if my life or family was in danger. In this kind of situation it's "kill or be killed." You don't have time to sit around and think about what is "politically correct" or you'll be dead. Trying to disarm, injure, or pepper spray someone when they have a gun and you don't usually won't end up so well for you. Judgement and responsibility are key here. You don't go around waving your gun threatening people. Obviously you don't aim to use deadly force in every situation. If someone wants my car, they can have it. I'm not going to get killed over something stupid. Now if my life is in serious jeopardy or my families and the attacker has a weapon, he's going down.

those flashlights are bright as hell. you could easily blind someone with that, and then whack them in the head with it.
i have this in my car sometimes. If he had a knife I would disarm him if I possibly could. And if he's lucky and didn't try anything stupid (ie try to kill me) I would let him live if no immediate danger presented itself. There are just so many situations and variables it's hard to say what ANYONE would do in any situation. People need to stop being victims (read pussies) and do something. I'm not going to comment anymore on this thread because I can see this going way off topic and possibly cause someone to go cry in a corner. |

Anyways, enough with the gun debates. Back on topic. I remember seeing a guy here with a crazy spring loaded contraption for his gun that was integrated into the rear center console...Damn, wish I could find it.

"An attacker will never walk away with anything I own if they are trying to take anything of mine (life, home robbery/invasion, etc) by force (weapon)... because they'll be dead." No one is being a pussy here. The easiest way to stop being a victim is try to avoid circumstances that may create a situation. Self-defence 101. PS. In the words of my old combat hapkido coach..."no matter how much of a bad ass you think you are, someone always has your number". PPS...speaking of flashlights, does anyone have experience with the Pelican 7060 or 8060? |

You actually have to take a class to legally carry one. I know a crazy old ex- marine, guy's like 70+ and drives a lifted Dodge truck. (Pretty much looks like a monster truck covered in crazy marine stickers) He's a security guard and he showed me one of those batons, they're brutal.

Did you even bothering reading the rest of my post? Judgement and responsibility are key here. You don't go around waving your gun threatening people. Obviously you don't aim to use deadly force in every situation. If someone wants my car, they can have it. I'm not going to get killed over something stupid. The ONLY time a gun should ever get pulled are for extreme-defense situations, and as I said.... Judgment and responsibility are key. You don't just shoot people. Engaging in these debates are pointless. Back on topic.

There's no debate simply stating what the law states. What point did we miss then. Taking self defense too far and killing them is murder. I think you should read the thread and explain wtf you are talking about. done.

Originally I was agreeing with REVNU. In a situation where a gun had to be pulled, that usually means shoot to kill, not disarm or injure. The ONLY time I would ever use a gun on someone is in a life-threatening situation, and you don't have time to think about the legal ramifications and what's "politically correct". At that point you're fighting to survive. You don't just pull out a gun and shoot someone coming at you with a pocket knife or for your wallet If that's what you got out of REVNU or anyone else in this thread, you might want to check your reading comprehension. I really don't see the point in this anymore. A fun thread gets turned into an debate on proper self defense/gun use.

How the fuck did we go from a maglite to excessive force/gun control argument? Well done OT. I do not need firearms. If I am mugged I will merely pull out my 12 inches of glory and beat them to death with it. And yes, I am referring to my...maglite. I keep one in the car because of work in case I have to go into a property without power.

A friend of mine got thrown into a car, mugged and thrown out at full speed. She was in the hospital for two days and the wounds from the road rash took forever to heal.
