Top IT dog for the College of Sciences. 11 departments in 7 buildings. I anticipate little time actually in my office and lots of walking, which isn't a bad thing. I also anticipate lots of meetings, which is a bad thing.

Eastern Illinois University (Tony Roma's alma mater)
It's 2 miles from home. My current job is 55 miles away. I foresee a new vehicle in my future. Something I won't run into the ground in 3 years. Quote:
This job actually pays a bit less than my current job, but I'll save $10K in commuting costs, so the difference is more than covered. My current job has responsibility for about 50 faculty/staff and support for 200 students, plus the infrastructure and critical systems. The new job supports 250 faculty plus ~75 staff, but no students and no critical systems, so it sort of evens out. The driving motivation behind getting this job was working with at the same university as my wife and not having to drive 110 miles per day.

Congrats on the new job, Mark, sounds like a better deal for quality of life. I was driving 52 miles each way a year or two back and as much as I love driving, it definitely gets old. Great shot of the building btw, really nice! |

Nice shot, Tim. Welcome back.
I've been looking at a Midnight Blue MB C300 4matic Sport. I'll probably hang onto the X5 and Z4 for a bit, though. The Z4 has one more payment, so I may sell it locally in the Spring and then use the X5 for trade-in. We'll see.

That's The Dakota on the right, isn't it, Denn? John Lennon's building?
Nice shot. I like the subdued processing. The stoplights look like they're really getting blown around.

Great move Mark, congrats.
Start figuring out what you'll do with the extra ten-hours per week of free time. That's huge. Dave

Thanks, Dave. Wifey already has plans for us to go walking after work every day. EIU has a great 2.5 mile walking trail that we used to hit every now and then. Looks like it will become a daily good weather habit now, which will help me shed some weight, I hope. Too much sitting in my current job.

I get one (well it actually fluctuates between a C250. a C300, and a GLK) as a loaner all the time as until 12 days from now I have had 2 Benzes for the past year, one of them for 3.5 years... The interior just feels so cheap in the entry level MB's... It's been really hard on me not having a BMW in 2012. I hope you keep one of your Beemers, the Z is a cool little car to keep around Payload to the snapshot thread, I have had an insane week at work so this is from my recent shoot, planning on going out tomorrow in the AM for the sunrise... But no, I haven't driven one. Obviously I would before buying. I might also opt for a slightly older E class just for the added room and features. My cats are taking turns posing on the table tonight.
