Biorin - either way....I'll likely have 'debt' on a parcel occupied under long term lease with a national credit tenant at 85% LTV and about a 6.5 or 7 CAP, throwing off just enough to cover the payment and then leave enough cash for me and MKSixer to buy some alcohol to ease the pain

I echo Biorin's post. Leverage describes a ratio really. If you have a lot of debt and little assets, then you would be highly leveraged. And vice versa.

If you plan to have no assets, then all you will have is debt. Which you can most certainly leave behind.

It would be nice if you could leave a nice Cohiba and a bottle of 15 yr Macallan behind for each of us to properly celebrate your passing.

You can leverage an asset, you can also technically say you are highly leveraged and that would be correct as well...but as I say, leverage is a descriptor, rather than a tangible thing. It describes how much debt to assets you have. Both debt and assets are (normally, though not always) tangible. So you can leave those behind. But you can't leave "leverage" behind since it isn't a thing.
