IMO - No way we are getting buttons. Id also say no way on AS. Maybe they upgrade the interior seating and give massage option or something but I’ve got very low expectations at this point |

I totally agree Matt.
I follow all things BMW really close and personally I am not expecting anything really enticing coming with the new G45. My prediction is they’ll land with a good not great looking X3 that is generally conservative, safe and not particularly polarizing. The problem for BMW is how do they get people like me coming off lease to plunk down money for a new lease plus take on $200 more per month in payments….unless they surprise and delight with noticeably better performance and handling. The Macan blows the X3 and X5’s out of the water in the handling department. If they could level that playing field with a good design, color choices (please no more grey) and better performance I’d pull my check book out.

So no one is bothered by the reduction in cargo capacity from 28.7 ft3 to 20 ft3?!!!

From first post of this thread:
Specifications: - Length: 4755mm - Width w/o mirrors: 1920mm - Height: 1660mm - Wheelbase: 2865mm - Leg Room: 1021mm front, 923mm rear - Luggage volume: 570l/1700l - Curb weight: 20dx - 1890kg, 20x - 1855kg, M50x EU - 1980kg, 30x US - 1894kg, M50x US - 2057kg - Towing capacity: 20dx, M50x EU - 2500kg, 20x - 2400kg, 30x US - 1815kg, M50x US - 2200kg - Tires: 225/60R18 square base models, 30x - 245/50R19 square, M50x - 255/45R20 front + 285/40R20 rear or 255/40R21+285/35R21. Max Well put it into a spreadsheet in post #20 to convert from Metric to US customary units (and I confirmed the cargo conversion!). If the info is valid, that puts the new cargo space at less than the current GLC (which was tiny at 21.9 ft3 to begin with)! The very tiny Lexus NX has 22.7 ft3 of cargo! Edit: Looking at the spreadsheet again, it could be how EU reports cargo area vs the EPA in the US. The outgoing cargo shows 19.42 ft3 so it's actually a net increase to the new gen. This makes much more sense! Last edited by EWL5; 04-17-2024 at 07:48 AM.. |

I discussed this uncertainty in post #3 of my 'F97 X3MC & G81 M3C Touring – some specs compared' thread as well [ https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2069863 ]. Just like 'Curb Wt' between DIN, EU, US brings confusion, it would be helpful if an Intl standard for reporting specs could be adopted by all Mnfrs to help consumers fully understand differences. Then again, the Mnfr firms may not want the data to be clear... |

ynguldyn heads-up on your post at the top of this thread indicates the new X3 will get ID8. In one of the videos I watched where the BMW rep rode along he indicated it was ID9.
I don't know which is correct but wanted to pass that along. Edit: ID9 is stated at the 18:05 mark of this video:

Car makes are realizing you can change the exterior size (closer to midsize) while keeping the interior "same" (compact class). They are hedging but this has never amounted to increased sales....just confusion!

IMHO, it's that BMW has decided they've reached the perfect leg room characteristic for this subclass of compact SUVs; they take all additional size gains and put them in the trunk space. When a compact SUV changes size externally, I'd be willing to bet that 99% of the time, that space is increased trunk capacity (more often than not for batteries) or increased engine bay/hood length to fit additional mild hybrid additions.

You are right. No one's tall in my family and we fit perfectly okay in a CT200h. I would rather have more cargo space, which is what the utility of a CUV/SAV is for anyway, besides the higher ride height (what my wife loves) and ground clearance. |

Anyone know if the M Sport Different (2T4) is different from the standard rear axle lock differential? From what I've come across online, the former is a torque vectoring differential while the latter is more like a 4WD wherein the two wheels on the rear axle are locked and power is split 50/50.
Is my understanding correct and is that going to be used only during off-roading? Thank you. https://www.bmwblog.com/2024/04/14/2...ssis-and-more/ If you’re an enthusiast, you probably are only really wondering how the M Performance version of the G45 X3 feels. Lucky for you, we got firsthand experience there, too. All those cool changes we just mentioned for the PHEV version get further tweaked for the M Performance variant (likely to be dubbed the X3 M50). Plus, it gets a rear axle lock differential, stiffer springs, performance-oriented struts, and re-tuned steering. Adaptive suspension is optional. |

Is there any confirmed information, that 3 liters diesel engines (in G01 marked as 3.0d and 4.0d) will be offered in Europe? |
