I think car design is an incredibly complex thing, and BMW is always pushing the envelope. I think a lot of dudes here need help picking what socks or tie to wear… so car design is a bit out of the layman’s scope.
BMW could be boring like Audi or Mercedes, but we have to give it to BMW - they don’t keep regurgitating the same design and are actually making material changes. I think the majority will end up liking this X3 after it’s been out for a bit, probably with some even saying it’s the best to date . History does repeat! |

then you'd say the cars look outdated. Halo's arent traditional they were a fad in the bmw design phase.

What all the crybabies in the comments wanted the 2025 X3 to look like.

Have to disagree. BMW's recent designs in the last ~3 years have not grown on everyone, and this is after quite a bit of time has passed since their releases, and we've all seen them in person numerous times by now. Sure, some people have learned to love them, but a good design should be beautiful to start. I may be dating myself, but my jaw used to drop in a good way when BMW released initial photos of cars (thinking e36, e39, e46, e92, etc). Press feedback was also overwhelmingly positive at time of release which suggests it's not just youth perspective and/or nostalgia. BMW's designs are simply not as beautiful, elegant, and purposeful as they once were.

I can see the design language bridge into the neue klasse (I think that’s how you spell it); this looks promising. Looking forward to the M models.

There is a lot left to the imagination with the spy photos. This is as ugly as that can get. Also the angle is terrible, so that could be making it even worse

This looks fake af and doesn't follow the current design language. Having said that, the DRLs look like a natural progression that should have been on the G8X LCI instead of the fangs they went with.
