Ya! Some reviewers are actually more inclined to keep things shiny all around with a fear of otherwise getting blocked from getting review units from manufacturers. I think, I saw a video of Matt from CarWow mentioning that he has got himself blocked by Mazda because of some specific comment in his review. 🤷

I think it's worth pointing out that the non-opening sunroof has advantages too. It reduces weight and avoids mechanical complexity and makes it much much less likely that any seals will fail and cause leaks.

BMW probably deemed that to be a good trade-off, especially if a sizeable fraction of owners never open their sunroof anyway. I highly doubt that it was a mere "oversight" in the sense that they neglected to think about it at all.

Having said that - I do agree with Horatiu's opinion that the lack of ambient lighting around the rear door handles was a poor design choice. It reduces the cohesion of the interior design.

it's cheapening of the product, ones that obviously bmw accountants think they can get away with. time will tell if enough customers are turned off by the changes to go to the competitors who don't do these things.

more nasty plastic than ever, and lost features from the outgoing model. this doesn't feel like an upgrade.

i've basically never opened the sunroof of my m340i. when i had an f30 328i I found one that didn't have a moonroof at all.

Like I'd absolutely take a G45 x3 with no sunroof or moonroof at all? I think theres probably people who also are fine with this, like people like the idea of a moonroof etc, but never use it, I'd rather just not pay for it and the weight at all

Pity he couldn’t compare to the M Sport Seats available in different regions on the G01. They looked great and are comfortable to me.

That said, it can take time to adjust to a seat, and adjust a seat to the individual. I guess wait until the user base is greater.

I’m not a fan of that seat style or material. It looked cheap in photos and earlier purported “pre production” car videos, but doesn’t look any better if this was a production model.

Interior looks horrible, I cant get over the plastic door handles. Thos reminds me of a cheap korean cars from early 2000s

Another G45 review of 30 and M50.

The 30i show the “base” dash without the weird stitching. To me, the base car looks better than the M50. ��

Noticed no metal door sill foot protectors on the M50, and that “X3” printed on the plastic near the door handle looks so crass.

If I’m honest, there are features I like and others I dislike.

I’ll still buy one because there isn’t enough to put me off vs. the competition.

But the interior is a big disappointment and a step backwards. It’s always the little details that count and you notice that they are not there.

I could interpret it as a lack of respect for the customer if I was being mean.

I think BMW just figures there are enough drones to buy whatever it shovels. If consumers accept it, why would they not ?

in singapore the "luxury" dash trim is standard for both base and m sport trims for xdrive20

It’s a good question, and needs proper confirmation by examining the glass itself, not some subjective, well it did sound quiet than x type answer, which may be true/untrue or related to something else.

Do we know the body panels are made from on the G45 ?

for the DEMO X3 M50 showed around in Canada, I checked the front side window is "acoustic glass". As you can check when open the window, look at the edge of the glass. For the Wind shield, not sure how to verify? I think in HB's video, he did mentioned the new X3 is more quiet.

We got/get the front acoustic glass as standard on the G01/G02 here, so just worth bearing in mind when someone is comparing to previous models, as this is not the case in some markets, like the US.
