Some just don’t want to do that. Who doesn’t want to max profit if they can? Some dealer have a large volume so they more likely to give a deeper discount to move units.

Of course they make much more than 1%. As a consumer of course I would that % be as much as possible. It is their decision such % makes sense or not.

I hope they are making at least 10% doesn't seem worth it if not.

New car sales is not where dealers make their money, that is just a way to get customers. Most profit comes from service.

Still waiting to hear back from a few others to see if they can match 8% off MSRP. I'll keep you posted!

Hope this helps!
Apologies for bumping and oldish thread, but I'm too new to PM. mramella If you don't mind me asking, which dealer offered 8%? I've contacted a few and the highest discount I've been quoted is ~2.5%.

Hope this helps!

I was able to secure an X3 m50 with 6% off yesterday! Back in a BMW for the first time since 2014.

For what it’s worth I picked up my m2 last week and the SA was shaking his head that the x3 is a sales dud. He said they are not selling well, most people don’t like the design as it looks like many other compact SUV’s and the redesigned and incentive holding x1 is stealing sales.

“Wish we had the 2024s (x3) as they were selling like crazy before we switched”

If I I were shopping, without a rush, I’d hold for at minimum of invoice to 10% and I’d assume as model year end approaches the discounts will start to be more prevalent. Just need to find a dealer acting ahead of the curve. It’s time to get some of that ADM back!

Funny anecdote, the finance manager had the gaul to tell me how I already got such a good deal just paying msrp for my M…😠the mindset of these dealers post Covid
is filled with greedy and self serving behaviors. Personally, I’m happy to see a bmw I’d buy having some real negotiation room.

Incentives on the G45 are still not great so when will the “correction” from lack of sales happen?

I was shocked that the APR didn’t lower this month for the finance incentives. However, looking at the 2024 sales, the sales of the X3 were up 8.9% for 2024 but down 9% for December though. I'm imagining those numbers are higher for the whole year due to the existing model selling half the year before swapping to the new design.

Would like to see your data and the source. BMW stopped releasing monthly sales figures the other year and only does quarterly so monthly is tough to get.

X3/X4 were the only ICE SUVs to take a dive comparing Q4 2023 vs Q4 2024!

Not a great start for G45!

Okay, that is the Quarterly data. They don't break out sales by month anymore so the -9% you see is for the quarter and not December.

Obviously it is very hard to draw any meaningful conclusions from just YOY data since there are so many factors (economy, politics, incentives, customer acceptance, etc.) that go into the entire picture.

That appears quarterly and yearly, rather than monthly. Assuming that’s to the end of 2024, sales of the X3 in that region dropped 9% in Q4 2024, which corresponds to the G45 release.

Is the reduction masking the actual demand for G45 due remaining new G01 stock ?

Q1 2025 sales should largely be G45 so we will see at the end of March!

The factory is definitely pumping these out

close to 1000 unsold units on the ground and in production and about 400 waiting production

these are 8% off with buy rate all day now

Saw a dune M50 just this morning and it looks pretty sleek

They keep pumping them out, they're piling up, and yet BMW refuses to incentivize the lease.

Agreed. Shocked APR is still so high compared to other models as well. Maybe February 3rd will show something different.

It's a new gen of one of their most popular models. They are going to milk the launch as much as possible.

In other parts of the world higher discounts have been available from day one.

I know list prices and taxes are different all over the world, but maximum discounts offered for private customers in Germany where at about 18%. Company discounts up to 20%. individual discounts depends on region, dealer and configuration.

Typical discount at the moment is at about 15,5 - 16,5% in Germany which is quite high for a new well selling modell.

But sales seem to be running quite well now because lead time for individual configurations is 5 to 6 month now for the M50 and 6 to 9 month for the 4 cylinder petrol/diesel/PHEV.
