In case the owner of the car wanders over to this thread, please (for the love of God), post some videos of that gorgeous machine.

This car came out in 1973! I shudder to think of what horribly bloated monstrosities were on the rode back then, and what they must have thought when a car like this roared past them.

CLASSIC!

This thundering example of BMW perfection illustrates what *MADE* BMWs truly great automobiles. I will bet that Bangle-era 5s and 7s will not stand the test of time nearly as well as this magnificent piece of BMW heritage. Likewise, the X5 and X6 models may fade into history, too (not from their incredible performance, but from their strange styling). THIS CSi is what I imagine pulses through the veins of the true BMW enthusiast - and what I hope courses through the veins of current and future BMW engineers!

Thanks for the pics!

Styling like that isn't even legally possible anymore due to safety regulations. I hate when people say that new car designs look like shit and that they should look like old cars. It's never gonna happen.

The same question is in my head. There are not many like this one to compare with however.

Just tossing a number out I would think it creeps at 6 figures retail. Anybody?

The owner has hinted it was over $100k to do. In addition to posting on 6-speed, he's a regular at www.e9coupe.com. His project thread:

http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4642

The completed car thread:

http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5858

If you read Bimmer magazine, you've read about the owner. They've recently written up his E30 M3 Dinan Turbo and his 2002 turbo, and I'd expect an article about this one as well.
