Halfway through "Molly's Game" and really enjoying it.

I wasn't really much for watching it, but my wife said that we thought I'd love it.

She wasn't wrong.

Prolly gonna catch Call of the Wild tomorrow night. I've read the book about 37 times, probably going to be disappointed. Wife really wants to see it.

Whenever the ad comes on, if the wife is around, I spout: "Dat Buck, heem TWO debels!" She thinks the aneurysm is pretty bad and pressing on a speech center.

Movies watched this week so far.

I decided to go down memory lane after watching and enjoying Bad Boys 3 last weekend, so I watched:

Bad Boys - Man I feel OLD. That late 90's music...

Bad Boys 2 - Better than I remember, but just as crass. The Ferrari power slide with gun blazing still one of the most badass action sequences of all time.

Paths of Glory - Battle scene is epic. You can tell Speilburg was heavily inspired by this battle scene in making the opening of Saving Private Ryan. 1917 as well. Acting style is of its time (over the top, almost like a stage play), but you can tell how influential Kubric is to modern cinema from the kinetic fight scene to the camera blocking.

I started a documentary tonight called Idiocracy. I'll finish it tomorrow.

Watched “Rocketman” last night, and was underwhelmed. Although I loved “Bohemian Rhapsody”, found myself disappointed with the Elton John biopic.

Rocket man was a dud on the launch pad. We shut it down about a 1/2 hour in.

Oh, I don't know... I thought it was kind of fun in a Disney "whitewash the past" sort of way.

Rocketman is about Elton John, what you are referring to is The Rocketeer starring Jennifer Connelly and some other random people.

Oh fer frell's sake--

It was a tongue in cheek JOKE.

And a good excuse to post a fun image.

I drive jets for a living and have a thing for the '40's and WWII.

I'm *almost* certain I can tell the difference between a guy in glitter on a stage and a guy with a jet pack on his back.

Sheesh.

Call of the Wild was LOOSELY based on the novel. There was snow, and a dog.

Harrison is still pretty cut at his age, swimming in a icy river.

Took me a while to make the connection of Cara Gee/The Expanse

I enjoyed it, but not sure to the tune of $25.

"Knives Out".

It's a really different movie, with a LOT of Very Big Names in it and one that you need to watch closely and pay attention.

Basically, it's a “whodunnit” with clever writing, a lot of twists and turns and a fair bit of satire and comedy.

My wife picked it, and I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it (as usual).

I was wrong. (again, as usual).

It's a fun movie-- but you'll have to use your brain to keep up with what's happening and the smartness of the dialogue.

I'm really glad we watched it tonight.

Agreed. It’s a very good movie and I enjoyed it a lot. Met a girl traveling in Vietnam few months ago and watched that on our date. The dialogue was fantastic and reminded me of that one wedding movie with Keanu Reeves and Wynona Ryder.

As I said previously... Knives Out was boring AF to me. The only good thing about it was Ana de Armas.
Speaking of, can't wait for her in New BOND flick!

Just watched The Invisible Man. Good movie although at times I felt uneasy due to the music and over-dramatization. Would recommend it.
