Better last night. Before practice, blood was 106. Ran 8 laps, with sit-ups, push-ups, leg lifts, dips at each lap. Then hoed weeds until practice was over. Blood was 125 when I got home to tacos de papas for dinner.

Today was a rare workout. I normally only have caffeine on Wednesdays. Being a holiday AND Wednesday I got coffee before going to gym. Hit legs, but listened to brain instead of coffee to maintain amount on squats.
I think we might have gotten down to close to freezing overnight, so pool water was extra cold, so much so that even after a dozen or so laps I was still tingling and near brain-freeze. |

I know dude you meet a fat old dude and they are strong as shit. Just getting off the couch with 300lbs means your gonna be fairly strong. Just think how much strength a pro level bodybuilder had at 300lbs

I need some help with legs. I've never had any. I give them most attention and still nothing. I do feel more sore after workouts with higher rep squats 12s or so. I have a previously repaired knee and at times that seems to limit but even before no growth they get stronger but no size.

Try biking, especially up hills. It's my only leg workout for the last 2 years since tearing my left ACL/MCL/meniscus. Quads and calves gain size and get ripped.

I'm creeping up to 200 again. 185 is still where I would like to be. Swimming was great until the weather changed. Since the outdoor pool isn't heated yet, I was only able to do 2 laps at a time last week, then I'd get a headache and have to jump in the Jacuzzi. Not sure that hot/cold stress is as good for the heart when pushing 50.

I hit legs last night, and went up a little on most things.
I can't swim any more, so instead I'm using the Olympic-sized pool as my personal cryotherapy pool. I jump in the cajuzzi for 4-5 minutes, then 2 minutes neck-deep in the cryopool. Do this twice, ending in the cold, then take a quick shower and head home. Mixed medical reviews on such a regimen, but if placebos work, why not? I sleep a bit better that night, and things don't seem to be quite so sore the next day. My knees weren't so wobbly after legs last night. |

So it's getting to be very frustrating. This whole aging thing sucks.
I never had GUNS, but I also didn't have sagging skin at the elbows where my biceps used to be. I didn't push huge weights, but my elbows and shoulders never hurt after pushing the same thing 2 girls left on the chest machines About the only thing that is working well is leg day. And 2 minutes sessions in the 40* water. |

I need to do more of this. I have been doing more barbell, but also since I changed up my tempo its making a difference. After I leaned out down to mid 140lbs last year I've been stuck at like 148-149lbs.
