I'm back. I changed browsers and stopped receiving notices of posts here and just faded away. I finally woke up and thought, "Why am I not talking to my buddies on the M-forums." So I'll try to stay connected.
Ed, congrats on the hummingbird nest. What a find and great shots of them and the osprey! I've got lots to catch up, but I'll start with burrowing owls that I've been documenting the last few weeks: Female Burrowing Owl Brings Bug To Her Nest by David Stephens, on Flickr

Welcome back, DC. I was wondering where you've been. Was about to PM you to make sure you were still with us.

I set up a little bird bath out my home office window. Now I have a tripod setup and if I notice a bird taking a dip I take a few shots through the widnow.

I haven't been traveling much over the past few months, but at least the squirrels in my back yard have been entertaining!

I spent an hour or so messing around out back last night (cuz, where else can I go?) with my 7R4 and Canon 500 plus TC's. Just as I was about done I felt something rub against my leg. I thought it was our backyard stray cat Smokey and just murmured something to him. When I took my eye away from the viewfinder and looked down, a skunk was wandering away from me toward the back fence, calm as could be

You sure you're not in the ISS? 😄 Looks so close. Great shot! What's the effective focal length after the TC?
