I was visiting friends in Glen Ellen this weekend, walked out of the house at 11:00pm and found this Northern Pacific Rattle Snake hunting along the front steps of the house. After a brief photo session I took and released the snake over a stone retaining wall a ways from the house so hopefully no more snake/human encounters with this one.

I was up at 04:30 this morning (my wife thinks I'm mad), waiting for this to happen. This was shot a few minutes before Sunrise at 06:30 on Lossiemouth West Beach close to Covesea Lighthouse. Shortly after the Sun rose all the fabulous colours disappeared.

for those in the NorthEast, or anyone fortunate enough to have attended a ChampCar race at Nazareth Speedway, the track itself is mostly still there and easily accessible on foot after a short hike.
