Thank you! Appreciate the kind words!
It was a blast to do! Its a 12x12ft room. When the music is going, its a great stress reliever for sure!

Overall, great job! The recessed lighting looks great, the choice in carpet and color of the walls....spot on. What did you end up using for a brace on the punching bag? |

Almost got my little "home theater" all set up. I still need to wall mount those shelves bookending the tv. Not quite as extravagant as the dedicated home theaters/projectors some people have, but I think it looks/sounds great and it's super comfy! And it's hard to gauge size from the photo. It's a 77" OLED and the sofa is 11' wide x 7' long! It's so comfy I'll probably never make it thru a whole movie without falling asleep!

Rooms looks great, if you're considering converting it to a full gym, look up "Tonal". Looks like you have a perfect spot next to the punching bag for it and you will love it especially if you're looking to add more weights without loosing any additional space in the room.

https://www.amazon.com/Everlast-Wood...s%2C439&sr=8-2 That is the link for the heavy bad holder. It never binds up on me and is smooth when moving. Keep in mind my heavy bag is 100lbs.

This is the one I went with and love it. I wanted 100lb bag because I felt like it gave me the best resistance when punching. I tried the 80lb and felt like I could move it a lot more and I didn't want to scuff up the walls.

Looks like it's a day for gym pictures. My Concept 2 rower arrived today and I just finished putting it together. Still need to get some artwork up on the wall, and I'm considering wall-mounting a small tv in front of the rower.

I'm going to start this post with a "before" photo and a short explanation. When I moved into this house it had only one bathroom. As you can see from the photo it was in desperate need of a full renovation. It was functional but that was the only positive thing you could say about it. Now because the house had only one bathroom it made tearing it out a tad inconvenient for day to day life. So before this bathroom could be tackled a second bathroom had to be created in the basement.
This is the original laundry space I had to work with. You can see that I have already opened up the basement by removing the bearing wall and installing a beam across the room. Oh and I took out the very cheap laminate flooring the previous owner had installed. Next the concrete floor had to be broken up so I could rework the drain pipes in order to move the laundry and install a shower and toilet. I also wanted a laundry sink as well as a hand sink. The theme for the basement bathroom was an industrial utility room. With that in mind I installed all the water supply pipes, drain and vent pipes on the outside of the drywall, painted the open floor joists (ceiling)black and installed wire caged light fixtures. In this photo you can also see the subfloor is installed as well as the walls are framed up and drywalled. The walls were framed with staggered studs to allow for sound insulation as the future theatre room is going to be right on the other side. (Another reason the bearing wall had to go.) Next step was to build the shower. I went with black glass octagon tiles and custom stainless steel wall sheets. The one part of this project that I paid to have professionally installed was the glass shower wall and door. And here is the finished laundry/bathroom/utility room. As stated above, the main purpose of creating this bathroom was so I could tackle the complete renovation of the main bathroom. Stay tuned for that post.

Got a random thought the other day to install a drop down TV on my patio and decided to have at it. Should have been a quick project, but the most planning i did was snapping a picture and drawing in a tv, so there was a lot of figuring it out as I go. Majority of the planning was done on my way to Lowes.
Had to drop the ceiling a few inches to give me enough clearance to put the TV and brackets in, and still could only fit a 43" tv with ~1/2" to spare. Still need to caulk all the joints and paint the ceiling, and touch up the stucco. For the TV trap door, used an electric actuator attached to a bracket i welded up. have limit switches so the trap door cant go up too far or back too far since the cheap actuator i got didnt have adjustable ones. I used a cheap remote to operate the hatch. I should have gotten a higher quality one, as this one tends to have some issues if you are pointing it directly at the receiver. The TV is a Samsung QLED. My original plan was to put a soundbar under the TV, then connect bluetooth speakers to that so i can have speakers back at the couches, but this TV has bluetooth audio so i can hook up my outdoor bluetooth speakers directly to it. The mount I used has quick release latches so i can take it inside if it gets extremely cold. Video of it in action

Patrick303 Fellow Tonal user, those are bad ass doors! Really gives the room a different feel and blends nicely with rest of the contemporary feel of the house from what i can see with limited views. Definitely opens up the space.. i'm surely stealing this idea if i do another build, lol. Also very nice sized room, plenty of space! I only had 9'x13' but made it work Without Tonal it would be impossible to get any real equipment in there.. Like i always tell others Tonal is best invention since sliced bread!
For sure get a TV! My buddy had an older plasma 55" he wanted to toss into trash that had practically zero hours on it so i decided to put it to good use. i love watching F1 or Moto GP while on Tonal especially since i'm not doing a lot of programs and mainly freelift, no need to listed to a coach
