Honestly? I never even really thought about the possibility that you *could* install the pads backwards. I mean, who would *ever* do that?

I'm relieved to know there is someone in this world who is more incompetent than I when it comes to auto maintenance.

Oh yeah, like you, I also had a heart attack. Mine was in June 2020 a couple of months shy of my 54th birthday.
It took me quite a few months to get half of my strength back, and I've never been the same after that. I still can't do half the stuff I used to do before my heart attack

Mine wasn't a heart attack, just heart failure from fluid retention and all kinds of electrical malfunctions. I was sent home from the regional trauma center to die in 2016, with a 24/7 IV infusion pump hanging around my neck and a central port in my chest. Of course, I'm still alive (if you can call it that) because I didn't listen to my doctors and die.....

Mine was about 6 months before my 62nd birthday. Ended up with an emergency double bypass (had 100% blockage in my left main artery and should have died during my rotator cuff surgery 3 months prior) and am now held together with piano wire and a couple of plates. It kills me that I can't do the stuff I liked to do like brakes anymore, my chest just can't take it.

Our alarms are hard wired, but they're smoke/heat detectors and the heat detector is super sensitive. That's a pain because the alarm down the hall from the kitchen will go off almost every time we open the oven door.

Ours are hard wired too and just like you guys, ours down the hall from the kitchen will go off from opening the oven door. Not every time, but sometimes. At least we don't have to worry about batteries.

Got a couple hard wired but away from the kitchen (bottom and top of the basement stairway). The kitchen one is wifi with the one in the garage, when one goes on so does the other one.

I`m lucky that I can still do almost anything I used to do before the heart attack, but I get out of breath easily.

Thumbs up

Didn't do much Black Friday Shopping. But I did grab this. This rechargeable power Screwdriver will come in handy.

One of the few things I can say I was late to the game to buy. Very useful.

I used it previously on brand new glass in our condo and think it works exactly as advertised. So I applied it to new glass again. Two small showers took 60-90 minutes and only a little minor back pain from contorting to reach everywhere in the small showers.

I also tried it previously on our master bath shower after it was used and that didn’t go as well. The cleaner that comes with it didn’t really clean the glass sufficiently. I’m going to try it again but first after cleaning it with something else. The glass has to be spotless or you will seal in whatever is there.

So, definitely recommend for brand new glass (which just requires regular glass cleaner) but if you have any hard water or soap stains in existing glass, you’ll need to work a little harder to get it clean first. I think it can also be used on auto glass but haven’t tried that.
